watched The Nightmare this morning, very good. quality was good considering the age and probably the source material, was a couple of blurred shots and obviously some physical damage to the original tapes, but it was very enjoyable to see finally. interesting to hear some of the alternate lyrics.
won't bother w/ the concert, having already got the rhino version.
tiniest minor gripe ~ the booklet has pages of the screenplay as background, it's a shame they didn't get that and put it as a readable extra on the disc.
Finally - The Nightmare special official on dvd

I just watched it.
For just over $10 it was worth it.

Re: Finally - The Nightmare special official on dvd
I remember seeing the original broadcast of the Nightmare special. I was 15, and even though I was watching it alone, it embarrassed me.
As for the live film - I saw it upon release at a midnight movie. Love that version of 18. I snuck a portable cassette recorder under my jacket and two blank tapes. Had them for years.
The concert sound was strange - Cold Ethyl you can barely hear the guitars and the bass on NMMNG was the main instrument in the mix. Wish they'd recorded that show on multitrack for a live album.

Glad I finally saw the complete version of ballad of DF.
Mostly you don't get to see the part where he frees himself, you know the rest..
Very well played.

Most of it is cheesier than a cheddar sandwich! The lyrics to devils food are very strange, cold ethyl and department of youth were brilliant! As was only woman bleed.
