Who I really am

Post by Saint&Sinner » Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:32 pm

Has anyone listened to this on audible? i really liked it, i know he can be .....fluid with the truth but he is a great raconteur and was a joy to listen to. I actually really liked the snippets of acoustic versions of his songs he does. I would listen to a collection of acoustic songs (not just his boring ballads but actual rock songs)
Definitely worth a listen to anyone who hasnt.

I've listened to the free clips so far and was surprised at how much he seems to be shouting the stories out. I reckon I'll have to give the whole thing a listen.

I am halfway through so far and indeed, it is not in his usual narritive laidback style ... Guess the die hards, that have read golfmonster and Dennis' book and seen some interviews on youtube, will know most of the stories covered, but it's fun hearing them told by Alice.
you really wouldn't understand..

Just like Saint and Sinner I’ve so far enjoyed the arrangements of the old songs he’s done on this. I’m only a little way through at the moment but I actually think an Alice album in this style would be really refreshing. It’s not corny campfire stuff and It’s not completely acoustic btw but when the electric guitars do come in they’re a million miles away from the more “metallic “ style he’s been using for the last 30 odd years . The arrangements are strangely faithful to the originals yet showing them in a new light at the same time. I’m not usually one for artist’s regurgitation of past glories but I found the 2 I’ve listened to so far a welcome surprise.

It's an Audible Original production, so no.

Much prefer something like this to colouring books and hot sauce ;)
