I thought Old School was limited to 5,000 worldwide, I assume the 10,000 includes sales of the stripped down version too?

That's a polite request not an order

Originally, yes.

I don't think so.

Thanks for these figures I have always wondered how the less well known albums faired.
I personally think some of his best stuff was the lowest selling (Dada, From the Inside and FRF).

Also the trend seems on a downward slope. Is that reflective of the album sales in general? I would imagine he invested a lot into his latest, Welcome 2 my Nightmare.

If you have kept up with the changes in the record industry since 1999 or so, you will know that this has applied to almost every artist who still releases albums.

Did we ever establish that these numbers are accurate because discussing their significance otherwise becomes purely speculative.

The source is Soundscan. I asked a friend in the industry if he had access to it which sadly he doesn't as it is very expensive. Here is what he had to say about Soundscan and its accuracy: Soundscan is 95% accurate. Not every cd store reports to it and some small stores may still have weighted reports for ex 1 sale will show up as 6 sales. Digital sales are usually accurate. All current soundscan numbers are lower than they were 5 and 10 years ago because less people buy music. He also added that Soundscan are very serious about anyone posting their stuff and would immediately stop their account if they find out who posted it.

Here is a link to the original Cooper along with some Ozzy/Sabbath figures which might be of interest to some.

The reason I revived this as I was wondering what sales Rhino/Warner are expecting from the new box set.

I'm interested too, but worried. Just can't get enthusiastic about the album yet.

Anyway, this thread is about sales. Anyone got anything remotely as detailed as this for other countries esp UK, Canada and across Europe?
