Re: Question re Grim Facts lyrics
thanks for the info..its only taken me 30 years to get round to asking...lyric even better/funnier than I thought...similar with Vicious Rumours..read the lyrics on the Lyrics page and seems a deeper song than I first realised..hadn't been that big a fan of FTF and SF so hadn't sought out info..wish all albums/tapes in the old days had come with lyric sheets..Strangely I'm beginning to feel that if I put half of FTF with half of SF I can make a vg album.. to my ears anyway....ta again

Re: Question re Grim Facts lyrics
Recoop, what a great question. I to have been waiting since 1980 to get around to sorting that one out.
Agree with the 1/2 and 1/2 theory although it does sit with the 2 album sets Alice often does, so it was not surprising at the time to get what were almost considered FTF out-takes for SO. Quite like the querky second side of SF. Although not a particular favourite, I have a soft spot for SF as that was the first tour I saw.

Also a question which is actually answered on the "Flush The Fashion" album page, under the 'Songs' subsection.

Re: Question re Grim Facts lyrics
I must be showing my age. SRO has been around forever and I remember it well. They use to use it at sporting events and concert events. Maybe the term is more popular in the states as I see you guys are all Brits. Maybe you don't get out as much as we do. I think there is a live album titled SRO by a popular group whose name escapes me right now. Cheers.

I think you may be right about us not getting out as much as you guys, but what with the price of theatre tickets and Pims being so expensive we have to be more selective.
The SRO album was by The Marshall Tucker Band i believe.

My three favourites off Flush have to be Clones, Pain and Leather Boots

I agree, I find it a funny song. I'm a bass player and I love the bass line in this song. It reminds me a bit of Dennis Dunaway's style of playing but "Cooker" John LoPresti does just fine!killer wolf wrote:Leather Boots a "turkey"?!

The "SRO" line always cracked me up, the whole song's lyrics are brilliant in my opinion.
Actually, FTF,SF,ZCS & Dada have some of my favorite Alice lyrics. They seem more witty, sharp and humoress than he usually was/is.
Definitely an acquired taste but an underrated period of Alice's career.
"Same as always, different as ever"
