‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Post by Sparticus » Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:19 pm

Peter Frampton?
Ace Frehley?

Praying for some solo dates in the States at the beginning of the year. I won’t be attending if it’s split time with either of those two.
If you call that guilty...then that's what I am

In a video at Kyler's photography show in Nashville in November, Kyler can be heard saying that he's home until May. That suggests that the first Alice shows of 2019 won't happen until May (though I imagine plans could change).

Not seen anything suggesting these a co-headline shows.
It's Alice plus a well known support act. No reason at this stage to think Alice's show will be cut short.

Going by the tour name, this is obviously going to be another Greatest Hits tour, which, at this point in Alice's career, that's completely understandable (as long as there are a few gems like a Pain, or Grim Facts, thrown in there for us hardcore fans)...but I REALLY HOPE the stage show is going to be revamped this year. It's basically remained unchanged since 2012

That’s the reason I chose to miss the last tour, first one since “75”

I hope you’re right! A 50 minute set of all hits and no cuts (a la Motley and Purple tours) isn’t really what I had in mind for the “new show.”

Yeah, Frampton is just a special guest at the LA show - it won't be a co-headliner. The same promoter brought Ace as an opening act last year for the 2018 Greek Theater show and the show in Las Vegas 2 days before that. I'm assuming most of the other 2019 dates will be the usual "An Evening With..."

As you probably know, "Ol' Black Eyes Is Back" was a tagline used to promote Goes To Hell album in 1976. This was a take on the "Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back" ad campaign for Sinatra at the time. With this tidbit as the foundation, we may as well falsely assume that the ill-fated, long-abandoned and even longer-awaited ACGTH Tour is finally being resurrected for 2019.

Haha, wouldn't that be something? Thanks for that information, I didn't realize Alice had already played around with that tagline before. That makes me like it a little bit more

So apparently the European tour will be with Black Stone Cherry...superb stuff!

Now lets hope for a couple of UK dates.

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up, but two songs rumored to be in the OBE is B Tour setlist are Poison and School's Out. One can only hope. There's also talk of a drum solo.

Couldn't cope without School's Out. It's the reason I signed up for this.

Sick Things is the one which got my attention - of course he hasn't played it since 2004.

There are several consecutive open slots in the calendar which could accommodate an American leg.

Mexico is confirmed for May. I'd give an arm and a leg to see him in Chile. I hate this country, most tours I care about don't make it down here
