Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
I remember feeling a bit weird when I went to a Casino show in the US and it was still daylight at 9.30 when we came out after the show. You kinda don't know what to do. Kinda like going to the cinema in the afternoon.
I would *guess* there will be no opening act. There often isn't at casino/resort shows in the USA.

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
It has been years since Alice has had an opener, even for shows starting at 8:00. I don't know for sure, but I expect it's just Alice.

On at 8pm on the nose! Indeed a little early but that’s the time. No opener! See ya there! - KylerHORRORHOLIC wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 10:58 amI'm going to the Niagara Falls show on Tuesday and no opening act has been announced. The show starts at 8:00 which seems early for not having sn opener. Is it possible there will be a local band or last minute band added to the tour last minute or is this just gonna be Alice ?

I actually prefer there always being an opener at any show I go too (whether it is Alice or someone else). I feel like a good relatively short opening set by a band is part of the concert experience.

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
According to Setlist .com, the opening show at the Fallsview Casino, Niagara Falls in Ontario featured the same songs as the earlier 'Too Close For Comfort' concerts... albeit in a slightly rearranged order:
Lock Me Up
Welcome to the Show
No More Mr. Nice Guy
I'm Eighteen
Under My Wheels
Bed of Nails
Billion Dollar Babies
Hey Stoopid
Be My Lover
Snakebite
Feed My Frankenstein
Lost in America
He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)
Poison (Followed by Drum Solo)
Welcome to My Nightmare
Cold Ethyl
The Black Widow
Ballad of Dwight Fry
I Love the Dead
Elected
School's Out ((With snippet of 'Another Brick in the Wall Part 2' - With band introductions)
Outro: I'm Alice
However, according to someone in the comments... ""Long Way to Go", followed by some other spoken stuff, was [a] recorded / 'taped' intro with house lights still on as show was starting at about 8:14 pm. "Black Juju" snippet was at the beginning of drum solo with backing track (the part of the song just before vocal starts)."

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
Was I´m Alice really played live or just taped?
These good little shocks must be working I’m so happy now
Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
It's from a tape as they leave the stage.
Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
The Niagara show was my 11th Alice show (and amazingly, the 8th different city I've seen him in; he loves to play places near Toronto rather than Toronto itself!).
I really enjoyed it. The set was pretty similar to last year's tour that did go to Toronto, but I was happy that He's Back, Bed of Nails, and Snakebite are all still in the setlist. You never know when you'll lose one of those songs, so it's great to see/hear them. More broadly on the setlist, I would have liked to hear more from Road. I'm under no illusion that he supports his new record while touring, but Welcome to the Show was the only song post-1994 to be in the setlist, and even that feels unusual to me.
There were some stage theatrics that were new to me, though I'm unclear on if they're new altogether: (1) during Welcome to My Nightmare, Alice was at the top of a staircase, and the entire band was looking up at him as he conducted them; (2) during Ballad of Dwight Frye, Alice was getting zapped with some sort of electrical stick. I don't recall either of these in past times I've seen him. Also, during Billion Dollar Babies, rather than using the dollar bills at the end of the sword, a hand-cannon was fired with green streamers. I can't quite remember if I've seen him do that instead of the dollar bills or not.
I still think the best Alice show I've seen was in early 2022 - it had the longest setlist of unique tracks, and it had been 5 years since seeing him, so I was ready again!

The show started around 8:15, which was 15 minutes later than the advertised time. My parents go to casino shows all the time and said that they've never seen one start late, so it was a bit surprising. As is often the case with Alice, the pre-show music was mostly his own, but I have to admit that there were a ton of songs with his voice that I'd never heard before. I think they were alternating between his own songs and songs that he guested on, but I was surprised that I didn't recognize most of the pre-show music (nor did I hear Avantasia, which is the thing he's guested on that I would recognize).suziginajackson wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 9:12 pmHowever, according to someone in the comments... Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
Great show last night in Dayton. Alice looked and sounded great. I don't know how he does it.
I love that he and the band look like they're having a great time up there even though they do this night after night, year after year.
Standard play list. I'm not the biggest fan of The Road but "Welcome to the Show" works well in the live set.
A big thunderstorm came through midway through the set. Fortunately Rose Music Center is fully covered so the wind and rain just added atmosphere and helped cool things off.
The end of the set seemed almost rushed. Seems like the transitions are shorter and we're missing the costume change that used to come after the execution. But going straight into Elected! in the straight jacket is pretty funny. I don't know if it's a deliberate shot at the candidates but I'd love some "Alice for President" merch with Alice trussed up in a straight jacket with an Uncle Sam hat on. :D
I do appreciate that they've dispensed with the charade of going off stage and then coming back for an encore. Having Alice ask, "One more?" and then just getting on with it is much better.

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
Browsing setlist.fm, and Snakebite is not in the setlist for the last few shows. Anyone know if this is an error, or if it has been dropped? I'd be really disappointed if it's the latter.
Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
Apparently they couldn't use the snake at some German shows this time due to some local issues, so Snakebite was dropped. It *may* be back for the UK shows were using the snake isn't an issue.lordcatfish wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 7:25 amBrowsing setlist.fm, and Snakebite is not in the setlist for the last few shows. I'm not being funny but if i dont get to see/hear snakebite live because of "snake issues" i will be very angry. I do not care if he has a snake or not the song still rocks why would you drop the song because of no snake.Apparently they couldn't use the snake at some German shows this time due to some local issues, so Snakebite was dropped. Absolutely baffling.

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment
They did play the song at the first german concert without a snake. I was given the merch snake to throw at Alice when the song started. But he just took it an threw it right back. The next show they switched to Man behind the mask. I guess it's about the theatrics, when they can't have the snake as a prop, they rather do a song where they can have theatrics, like Jason coming out. I think that sucks. Even though I love Man, but that song has been played so many times now, that I prefer Snakebite, even with (preferably) or without a snake (he did wear a snakeskin jacket though). But the snake is a go in the UK.Saint&Sinner wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 4:31 pmI'm not being funny but if i dont get to see/hear snakebite live because of "snake issues" i will be very angry. I agree. Thought it was superb start to finish.
The screens definitely suit some songs better than others but they did enhance proceedings.
It's certainly advantageous that Alice has been playing so many dates before getting to the UK as his voice is in tremendous shape and the band are completely on top of the current set.
First time in a long while that I've wished I was catching a second night of the tour.
