I think I paid $17 or $18 for an Alice ticket back in 1980 when I first saw him. How???

It was at a fair. The reserved area was $18. Otherwise, it was the $5 or $8 fair entry to sit around the reserved seats. :)

So The Merch table is always open after the show? And Have any of you gone to the merch table before the show and not got down the front by the barrier? Or are alice crowds calm and they will let you get to the front?

Um, my experience is if you're late getting to the front you're SOL... for General Admission. You run for the barrier as soon as the doors open. If the venue has assigned seats, you can arrive just moments before the show starts, but it'll be hard to get there after the lights go down as some folks rush the stage/climb over seats to get to the front.

Calm fans? At the Calgary show I attended last year, the front row seemed to be casual fans who only pumped fists (and they were limp fists at that) during School's Out and No More Mr. Nice Guy, if they were rockin' at all. Seemed more like contest winners and not VIP holders or die-hards. I think I was the only dude going nuts in the first two rows during the entire show. Red Deer and Lethbridge, however, had nutso fans everywhere on the floor.

And honestly I don't believe there to be a calm fan in the UK at all, from the stories I've read here. Did you read about the 'one-legged incident'? Now THAT's nutso!!!

Have you ever been to the merch table before the show and gotten up the barrier, excluding assigned seats for now.

I suppose you could rush the merch table when the doors open, quickly buy your wares with exact cash (or forfeit your change) and skeedaddle to the floor... maybe. But I doubt you'd get within the first few rows... unless you know the Force. *yoda*

I'm still trying to figure the shopping schedule out. haha

AC Collect, I'd maybe wait to talk to other fans here who are going to the shows you are going to (and they'll chime in soon with some of their stories I'm sure), because your fan base and area are different than mine. I surely don't want to lead you on with my take on things or provide inaccurate information for a plan you hope to enact.

I assume you're doing UK shows so it's best to talk to those folks, I just chimed in... well, because I'm lonely. :/

I like to take my time at the merch table, so if I don't have reserved seats, I will wait until after the concert to spend my money.
...And personally, I don't care.

Let's put it this way. Speaking just for myself, I don't let anyone in. Once the barrier "spaces" are taken - they're taken, sunshine. ;) As to the UK crowds being 'calm'... let's see. We've got Si and Jaded, Me, Gorey, RavenRed plus a host of other regulars who don't post here. When those doors open any notion of calm goes right out the window.

Merch tables over here are pretty much always open after the show (don't recall ever seeing one NOT open post-show).

Well, I wanna get to the front, and I wanna get lots of Merch, so I'll do what you're doing, as You're experienced, Usually I get my Bro or dad to fight through the crowd with me :rotfl:

Go with me....I'll move the "little" (under 6'6) people right out of the way for ya.... :8):

That was just a bit of humorous sarcasm for the purpose of amusing a few on here that actually personally know me. A "little incident" that happened upon me during the "Nightmare Returns" Tour.
