Spent the last few hours listening to a variety of Dick Wagner's music. He was obviously pivotal to the success of Alice's early solo career, and an integral part of AC's best four WBs albums - 'WTMN', the vastly underrated 'GTH', 'FTI' and the epic 'Dada'.

There are so many wonderful Alice Cooper tracks he's involved in, that it's virtually impossible to pick a favourite; at the minute I'd go for 'I Never Cry'. Here's a poignant performance, from a few months ago, on Record Store Day:-

I also love his pre-Lou/Alice days, when he was in The Frost, and especially his first group The Bossmen. Dick said that screaming crowds, four-part harmonies and catchy original songs, saw The Bossmen tagged 'The Michigan Beatles'. Here's a flavour:-

Goodbye then Dick. You were indeed a musical maestro.

can we even begin to imagine what alice's career would be like without dick wagner? how many less hits and show staples we'd have? and then there's the other TONS of things he did without alice...what a career, what a life, what a man. RIP Dick. plug it in with Glen Buxton and shred it LOUD!!

Wagner had his hands in the song "WTMN" among other classic tracks on that album and other Coop classics. That to me puts him right in the rock and roll hall of fame.

A damn shame this is, but at least he's not suffering anymore with his ailments. Some great songs with Alice and enjoyed his ghosting too (KISS, Aerosmith).
He and Steve Hunter were probably the best guitar combo ever...complimented one another so well.
Let's appreciate the rockers we still have.
So long, Dick...RIP and thank you for the music.
