this just made the 8am news headlines on talkSPORT here in Blighty "£10,000 for a game of golf with Alice Cooper all proceeds to the comic book Uncle Alice"

Like the link to trailer on Variety..silly stuff maybe but its all entertainment- paves the way one day for grandpa Alice- introducing scary stories seems a good fit for Alice in some ways-loved the cyclops in the clip....and can't afford the £10k for a round with AC myself but if anyone wants a taster re Alice and golf there are a lot of youtube vids at the moment..search michael douglas and friends golf..you will eventually find Alice goofing around with Kenny G, Michael Douglas and Catherine Z Jones - and fo golfers Kenny G has a v good golf swing- Back to the project seems like a good mixed media idea to me.

Agree with you, ReCoop, it does look silly, but also fun which Alice always is. Looking forward to the comics, especially if they are in a TALES FROM THE CRYPT vein. Good seeing the Cyclops again (Back in 1975 when I caught the disease, 16 was only magazine I could find with Alice info and they dubbed the Cyclops "Chuckles") and good background music too; "Sick Things", "Titanic Overture" and "Escape"!

A pledge of $50 gets you issues 1--12 of Uncle Alice. Based on current comic prices, the individual issues are bound to be priced $4 to $5 per issue, so if you plan to get them all, you might as well pledge $50 and help ensure it happens.....

Great idea, looks like using Alice's humour to the fore. It does seem a bit strange that they are raising the money this way rather than pitching it to a production company or straight to the Tv channels but I really hope that this goes ahead as it looks great fun.

Not really. I think more and more people will be doing it for all sorts of projects especially as it usually allows you to retain creative control and the rights to the work.

Is that the original Cyclops from the 70s Alice Cooper shows?

No. That one was more gray. I think this is the one from the recent shows, that showed up summer of 2010.

portrait is stunning, the maquette is purely horrible. gonna back this, wanted to sub a story idea but it's a shame that you don't get to write it yourself. and i have to ask, what is the point of Alice signing the painting on the BACK?!
not too impressed w/ some of the pledge levels but i'll definitely be going for one of the mid/high level ones.

you need to pledge in order to submit.
i'll hold off on submitting cos at the minute the project's not looking too healthy, though it might pick up as more people become aware of the KS.

It says you need to pledge (2,500 $ or more) to submit your film / TV plot... not sure about story ideas/plots however. I guess one could give it a try :)

Since your pledge only comes into effect if the project gets through, you might as well pledge early and see what happens imho.

The project home page on Kickstarter actually says:

"Every backer who pledges $10 or more will have the opportunity to submit one idea for the chance to have it turned into an issue of UNCLE ALICE. [...]"

Since Danielle has placed a pledge (I assume it was the minimum of $10) she would be eligible to submit her idea...
