I have pointed out on Omnibus Facebook page about the errors in a comment, how long it stays on there I have my doubts.

"Dave Thompson is clearly a life long fan of the man-myth and his intro captures the confused, illicit thrill that shot through teenagers when School's Out rang bells in the summer of '72...It's an adrenalised story, rich with highs and lows, from Salvador Dali to David Blunkett..this is a killer schooling in Alice-ology".

Steven Crayn oh dear what terrible research and/or editing on the so called 'Welcome To My Nightmare' The Alice Cooper story when you can't even get his sons name right. Dave Thompson & Omnibus Press reputation has Gone To Hell with this and other basic errors that any Alice Cooper fan would be reluctant to waste their money on, come back Bob Greene all is forgiven!

Exactly, Si. Now that we know of several basic errors, the entire book's content is suspect, especially anything new that you or I or a dozen other people here have never heard before. I'm not saying I know it all, but I am saying that if it's new to me, I would assume it's B.S. just based on the other errors we know about.
I'm not going to waste my time or money on it....

I'm hoping we will get a response as I've emailed people at Omnibus press and Dave Thompson himself and made them aware of this site and how people aren't happy with this book

I woulldn`t go as far as not getting it to be honest. It's enjoyable to read, has a few photos that aren`t common. It's worth reading, and I'm sure 95% of it is probably correct. It's just annoying that some things clearly aren`t.
Look at it this way. We KNOW that lots of things in all the other books are wrong as well but they are considered essential reads for any AC fan.

I'm the kind of guy who has to have everything Alice related. And I agree with Si, I'm sure 95% of it is correct.

I think the whole point of a biography is that it IS factual, and to not even get basic facts (like his son's name, and when Alice changes his name) makes a complete mockery of it. As Si points out, how can you trust the accuracy of other information. However, as sick, looney, Cooper troopers, I'm sure we will all feel the need to thumb through it (at least) at some stage!

Speak for yourself Gunner, i have no desire to even browse through it if i saw it in a book shop.
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

This made me cringe - and I know we've already mentioned this but I find this paragraph laughable: '....Calico would have a brother, named Damien from his fathers middle name - and also because that particular name had only one connotation in the mid eighties, the demonic hero of the ongoing movie series The Omen. What better name could there be for the son of Alice Cooper?'

I'll likely buy the book, if not just to have something else written about Alice.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

I started reading my copy today. Was a little dismayed to read in the introduction "The all- electric The Slider album was imminent but, until it was delivered T Rex was still a rootsy folkadelic band with an eye for jamming Eddie Cochran riffs" This is simply not true and disregards "Electric Warrior" which had produced "Jeepster" and "Get it On" a year before and also "Telegram Sam" and "Metal Guru" had been released well in advance of "The Slider" album. TRex had long abandoned their hippy folk roots. And this from an author who it appears claims some expertise in the era of glam rock!!!
Having said that(although I have not gone too far yet) I am with Si and one or two other posters on this thread-I am enjoying it despite the errors so I would not disregard it out of hand as some fellow posters are doing. Will reserve final judgement until I have finished the whole book!!!
