I guess it's time for another Setlist discussion....

Post by GailsFriend » Fri Aug 26, 2011 5:41 pm

While listening to some of the new songs on W2MN, I can't help but think of other songs that would fit into the concept if it were played in its entirety...songs like "Aspirin Damage", "I'm Going Home", "Is Anybody Home?", and "Clowns Would Eat Me", "You Want It, You Got It" are coming to mind...
"What part of DEAD don't you get?"

Oh man...I would LOVE to see Aspirin Damage live. I was telling that to Si and J a few weeks ago. They both laughed at me, I believe. :)

I was saying that the title was ''Can't sleep the clowns will eat me'''. Anyway, I really can see ''Hey Stoopid'' on the new setlist.

Great list of songs although i'm interested as to how you came up with the order? I take it the first 5 songs are not part of the 'nightmare' sequence of the show? Also, what part of the story does 'Pick Up The Bones' relate to?

Its so much to cover. Let's say 28 songs - a fair estimate. There are regular hits that I'd sacrifice for a more Nightmare specific show, but knowing Alice's desire to please everyone, this is probably close to what we'll see.

From Nightmare:
-Welcome to my Nightmare
-Black Widow
-Cold Ethyl
-Only Women Bleed
-Steven
-Awakening
-Dept. Of Youth
-Escape. Knowing Alice, he'd use this to close before I Gotta Get Outta Here. This is more established and easier to duplicate live.

The Hits (the usuals):
-School's Out
-Under My Wheels
-Billion Dollar Babies
-Mr. Niceguy
-Eighteen
-Dwight Fry
-Poison
-Be My Lover
-Is it My Body
-Killer
-I Love the Dead

That leaves space for 9 songs from Nightmare 2. Let's be honest, Nightmare Returns and Underture aren't necessary because they would be rehashing songs we heard moments ago.

My guesses from Nightmare 2:
-I'll Bite Your Face Off
-Caffeine
-Something to Remember Me By
-Runaway Train
-Last Man On Earth
-Congregation
-When Hell Comes Home
-Ghouls Gone Wild
-I am Made of You. Doesn't seem like a song that screams "live" but Alice says this song might be the album masterpiece and that the guitar solo is something special.

Cant answer that I just think the whole shows going to be one big nightmare so I think a random song here and there wouldnt be a bad thing. Cant believe I missed out NMMNG though :smack:

I'd happily trade Ballad O.D.F. for Wind-Up Toy.

As my user name suggests, I'd love to see Wind Up Toy done again.

Anyone for these?

Freedom
Lullaby
Life and Death of the Party
It Rained All Night
Stolen Prayer

The other question is will we see the magic curtain again?
