I think there's a good chance it will be Jimmy. In talking to him, sounded like he's with them until the weekend.

According to Jimmy's website he's with Alice through to September 12th so I would imagine it would be him on the show rather than Eric.

Well, it was Jimmy on drums.

And...someone I know was at the taping. Evidently, he performed BOTH "Vengeance" and "Elected." But...since Craig's monologue and commentary focused on the election earlier in the show, looks like they went with "Elected" when it aired. (I dunno..perhaps they added performing "Elected" based on Craig's comments...)

Wonder if it was Alice's decision to change the song, or if more likely the show producers simply only aired 'Elected' in the final edit (it was recorded in the afternoon).

Best chance for national promotion of NEW material and they air 'Elected'. Surely not a management decision...

I would think there's a good change that show producers made the decision...to fit with the rest of the show's comments/theme.

My friend said that as Alice and band were performing live, they did "Vengeance" first.

I know...However, Vengeance will probably still air just like how last year Dirty Diamonds and Welcome to My Nightmare were filmed together and aired separately. At least if I remember correctly...

You are probably right. But why not hold 'Elected' back until the actual election day/week and let the performance of 'VIM' do it's job (promoting the new album) now?
That is why I would guess it must have been a producers decision, but even then it seems a strange one.

This time you are right...it would have been more interesting to see Vengeance is Mine across the world so that more people could go out and get ACAS while Elected would have been incredible during the election week. One wonders how long we will have to wait for it...as well as the VIM/Killed By Love/ITWYFS video too...

Yes, I thought it was a little odd to air "Elected" tonight, and then assuming VIM which will come later. However, as was probably pointed out before (sorry just skimmed through) it seemed to fit Craig's theme tonight of unnecessary preaching about the Election. Suppose I'll take what I can get, but just weird is all.

Interview was fine though. "Elected" sounded good.

But I wish we could of seen VIM.
