Judge Wapner sang backup on most of the album.
Actually, I think it was probably a silly joke... and I imagine that Alice, the TV addict that he has been known to be, was watching a lot of the People's Court during the recording of the album and decided to thank him in the credits.

A good trivia question!Billie1966 wrote:Can anyone tell me why Alice thanks Judge Wapner in the credits?

Not for sure, but somehow I 'assumed' it was Judge Wagners' picture used in the locket, opposite the one of Vince holding the puppy.
Because of the way the lettering was done on the LP cover - calligraphy - I always read the name as Wagner!
He certainly looks like a Judge anyway!
But Remarkably Insinceres' answer parallels the notes on STUK, with an added note from Brian Nelson that it is 'a stock photo of an old guy'..

As I understand it RI is correct. Judge Wapner was a character on US show "Peoples Court" ( a show we don't get over here) and Alice was a fan.
It's mentioned on the 'Dada' page:
"'Dada' credits include "special thanks to Judge Joseph A Wapner". He was the judge on the 'Peoples Court' TV show. Alice was a fan of the show."

I've often wondered if Alice watches as much tv as he did before he married Sheryl. I doubt she let's him watch that much as he was a bachelor. Rock stars have to take out the trash too ya know. There was a list once of his fave shows Twilight Zone, Leave It To Beavis ect ect. He was a big wathcer of boxing in the 80's don't know if this was related to the alcohol or not. Any idea what hes watching nowadays?

Alice obviously stays very busy, so I think it is safe to say he doesn't sit around watching tv all day.. However, I recall seeing an interview with him several years ago (maybe ten, twelve years ago) where he said he had several televisions at his house. In other words, he probably watches more than you think and I am sure he watches some on his tour bus and whenever he is in a hotel.

NWAC = Nights With Alice Cooper (his radio show)
'bagged' = I'm not from Oz, (Australia) but I'd guess this is local vernacular, being a derogatory term for criticizing?

I often wonder if his TVs are turned on more for "background" noise than actual watching. Of course, I have no insight into the reaons, maybe it's both. I know sometimes I have the tube on to drown out the racket of silence.cooperrocks wrote:Alice obviously stays very busy, so I think it is safe to say he doesn't sit around watching tv all day..
