I always read the name as Wagner!
So did I!!

Whilst we are mentioning odd credits, anyone know why Alice credits 'Basil Fawlty' on Flush the Fashion? I always believed it was because the album had some kind of English eccentricity about it!??

Probably because Alice loved "Fawlty Towers".

He also thanks Count Floyd on Special Forces. Seems like it was a running joke to thank people from TV shows he liked.
Is there any thanks to a TV-character on ZCS?

Barlow from "Salem's Lot" (I know he's originally from a book).

Has Alice ever talked about what Da Da was about or was he too drunk to remember?

From what Alice tell us he was too drunk to remember the writting and production of both Zipper and DaDa.

How does that justify a credit on an album though?
:/

It kept him amused enough to want to continue recording the album or something?

I'm not sure that it has to be 'justified'.

Doesn't have to be justified, but there will be justification for it and I was just wondering what the inclusion is for. In the creative arts, credits are an acknowledgement of those who participated in the production. I was just wondering how a comdey character contributes to the production of an album and my guess is that it is the humour and the English eccentricity that inpsired some of the monents on Flush The Fashion.

>Doesn't have to be justified,

But it was you who asked the question, so if there's no need for a justification, there was equally no need for your question. I'm not saying it wasn't a fair question, just that you can't really reply to my reply with your reply (as quoted above).

> but there will be justification for it and I was just wondering what the inclusion is for.

I think I already answered that.

> In the creative arts, credits are an acknowledgement of those who participated in the production.

Who says? I think you're reading far too much into that particular credit. You could ask the same question of the credits on the subsequent albums (as has been mentioned in some of the other posts) and I'm pretty sure the answer would be the same.

> comdey character contributes to the production of an album and my guess is that it is the humour and the English eccentricity that inpsired some of the monents on Flush The Fashion.

In that case, why wasn't the "National Enquirer" given a credit, then? After all, Alice has said that it was something of an influence on that album.

All sorts of things can have "participated in the production". Bands credit instrument manufactures, beer brands, friends, family, other bands and all sorts of weird things in credits, so why not a fav TV show you've been watching at the time.

Yes, 'at the time' I think is the key here, the entertainment value of the character 'Basil' must have participated in the production of the album.

Good, logical, reasonable and coherent reply Si. Cheers.

As opposed to 'in the future' you mean?!
