Alice Cooper and iTunes

Most major artists on iTunes have an artist page with a nice photo and the listing of all their albums. When you look up Alice Cooper on iTunes, only his albums show up.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Alice Cooper's new photos for Along Came A Spider will be used for his iTunes page.....because the photos are beautiful.
What do you think?

It would make for a brilliant iTunes profile page - personally, I'd be happy for the recent promo pics I've seen to represent Alice for ANY profile page.

But realistically, I don't know what constitutes an artist to have such recognition on iTunes .... is it how much ££'s the particular artist has contributed to iTunes? is it just how legendary they are are generally? is it how much the CEO recognises their brilliance? (Bob Dylan springs to mind for that one, but he ticks the boxes for the first two quesions I bet also).

Either way, be it special iTunes profile page or not, Alice will be very highly rated by me.

I believe who ever listed him and the albums has the option to make a profile page or not.

That raises an interesting question - I have not seen iTunes mentioned in any of the ads for ACAS. It should be available on iTunes, right?

I don't see why not but you will more likely see iTunes mentioned in online ads when it becomes available, that way people can just click on the iTunes logo. But of course we've only seen two posters anyway.

Interestingly enough...I just purchased Coop tickets on Ticketmaster within the last hour, and down at the bottom of the purchase page, they had a little button to click if you wanted to add the Montreux CD to your purchase for 9.99 via iTunes.

I keep waiting for the new page at iTunes....now when you type in "along came a spider"---at least Alice Cooper comes up. Before, only the book showed.

The new pictures will look amazing. Maybe SPV will remaster/repackage the catalog.....

Just waiting for the new album to explode.

How long before would an iTunes preorder typically appear? I want to know if the damn bonus tracks are available separately or only with the purchase of the entire album. Plus I want to know how many there are!

The wait is killing me. Right now I only work 2 days a week right now. I spend the rest of the week lying about. The way I've been counting down the release how many work days I have left. After today, there are only 2! The rest of the week sort of flies by.

What sucks is, I have this phobia about time (and life in general going by too fast), but damn it, I wanted this month to fly so I could hold this album in my hands!

What new page?? The "Along Came A Spider" page?

Not a page per se, but if you type in Along Came a Spider, it gives you Alice Cooper's artist page link as a possibility. ACAS isn't on it yet, but previously the title only linked to an audiobook of the same name.

I can't believe that the album is released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and coming out on Tuesday here in the U.S., and it is not listed on iTunes yet. SPV is doing such a good job with promotion, photos, videos, etc.....I am amazed they haven't insured this album's presence on iTunes by now, the 25th!

I should be more patient, be really, iTunes will have a bonus track version.....why shouldn't I be irked?

Why are you crediting SPV for all of that? That's been gone through several times now. The photos were done by Gabrielle Geiselman, artwork and videos were done by Piggy D (possibly with the help of Gabrielle?). Myspace promotions handled by Alice camp.

The only things SPV have done that I know of so far were two press releases, a pinball game and a one page ad in Classic Rock. You're crediting SPV for things they didn't even have any part of which is unfair to those who were, especially when it's been pointed out several times on the board (plus, you never know who may be on this forum to see you saying that.)

I guess then the question would be who hired Gabrielle and Piggy D to do the work?

I *think* that iTunes is still US-based, right? That might be why the album isn't up there...being US-based, they'd need to wait for the US release date.

They have stores based in several countries actually (possibly many?). When Si was setting up STUK on iTunes I'm sure he can tell you how crazy it was that there were multiple stores for multiple counties, which meant the possibility of multiple links!

Piggy and Gabrielle have done things with the Alice camp even before the new album came into picture. I'm pretty sure they were brought in by Alice's camp for this project.

However, it's been explained here several times over and over (once was even sort of an official response to this matter) who is responsible for all of this work. I can understand coming with that impression right off the bat, that's fine. However, this has been explained several times now.

I will give credit where credit is due, however. I won't say they've done nothing, but some are giving SPV a little too much/misplacing credit without realizing that alot of this stuff is being done independent of SPV participation.

Thank you Piggy and Gabrielle, of course. That still doesn't solve the iTunes issue...whether it comes from Santa Clause, Piggy, Gabrielle, or SPV....or the Rotten Tooth Fairy!!Ha Ha Ha.

we only have 4 days left in U.S....where are those bonus tracks?
