Took delivery of the vinyl today, in Scotland.
Were you hit by import duties/VAT/etc? If so how much?
Shipping and handling added $15.99 to the $39.88 cost of the set in the original transaction, for a total price of just over £43.00. Wasn't hit by anything else after that.

Hmm, that's interesting. Thanks.
I've been holding out ordering because last time I ordered from the US the import duty, VAT and handling charges were more then the item I had ordered! Wonder if they ARE being shipped from the US.

Hmm, okay, so that confirms that.
Anyone else received it in the UK yet?

As mentioned on another thread, no, not that I have found. Just USA, Australia, Canada and Japan it seems.

Mine arrived yesterday and my thoughts are pretty much as has already been noted. The remaster sounds great, interesting booklet, nice outtakes and flimsy paper sleeves which had slight rips in them. Again no import duties to be paid.

Pssst. keep a secret: There is an awesome little fact involving a familiar name that is revealed in the new booklet.
Hmmm . There’s lots of awesome little facts. I read the booklet with your comments in mind and I’m trying to figure out which one you’re referring to. Currently my guess is something to do with Dennis comments on lead guitarists.

Close! There are plenty of good nuggets in the booklet, but that's not the one I meant. I respect your ability to keep secrets! (Feel free to PM me if you like)

Welp, I bit the bullet and ordered it.

The hang-up for me was that I didn't think Billion was a big upgrade from the previous copy I purchased, and being retired and on a fixed income now, the cost after shipping and taxes meant I had to think long and hard about it, should I pull the trigger and spend that much on it; was the product worth it? But after looking over comments here and at Steve Hoffman's, it sounds like the 2nd disc and the BD, and the info in the booklet make it a winner.

So, it'll be heading my way. Crossing fingers I love it to death... speaking of which. Hope that's coming soon, and that they can scrape up some cool bonus tracks or a concert (I don't know what's available for that one, but "Love it to Death" has always been a special one for me, and it deserves the red-carpet treatment)

Totally love the 2nd LP. It's almost, (almost), like getting a new original Alice Cooper Group LP. It rocks harder than the official release and sounds better without all the sugar on top. It just has a different vibe and sounds more like the previous albums. It is missing some lead guitar work most notably on Big Apple Dreamin, but there are other guitar parts buried in the mix previously that stand out on several other songs.
As far as the packaging, it was almost too pretty to open. I still remember buying this when it 1st came out at a long defunct department store in a mall which is now a hospital and doctors offices. The book cover did end up on one of my high school books. Not this time. However my paper sleeves were split like everyone has reported
If you are still on the fence on getting this I think you will be pleased with it.

100% agree, i have never thought this album was up to much but hearing it in the early stages with no horns/strings etc its a game changer. Like you say its missing some lead guitar but, i will take the trade off definitely. The drums sound so much better its not even funny. Hearing Neal on tracks like muscle of love and his pedal work, perfecto!

Mine arrived a week ago and only recently started investigating it, I have to say the 2nd LP is great and has made me really appreciate the quality of the original songs, the bells, and whistle of the official release seem to distract from the band's playing and songwriting. For years, I dismissed Muscle of Love as a sad end to the band, but this 2nd LP has proved when playing as a unit even with the session players, the band was still capable of great things.

Well, that just put me off a lot. I’ve been on the edge here as I wasn’t a big fan of MOL in the first place. Comments were tipping me towards buying it but it was a top end price for me in the first place.

Mestreech is in Holland though. All the UK drops seem to have made it through unhindered.
