Slow speed on Detroit Stories vinyl.

Post by zoogirl » Sun Aug 11, 2024 1:48 am

Hey Sickthing’s!
So, my friend just bought Detroit Stories on vinyl, and it’s playing super slow. He’s tried a couple of turntables and got the same thing.
Has anyone else run into this?!
I'm too young to be this old!

Try flipping the turntable speed from 33 to 45. I’ll bet that fixes it.

Yep. It plays at 45rpm like a single would, not 33rpm like old LPs.

It just may say 45 Rpm on the Label next to the spindle. 12" Singles have varying speeds.
I found a David Byrne 12" that sounds better slower???

Looking at the labels I have images of in the discography page, it actually doesn't seem to give a speed to play it at. It just has the Alice "eye" graphic and the side number.

If you look very carefully, it states 45rpm in the red text!
