Completely missed this last year but just listened to Saxon's cover of From the Inside.

Not bad at all!

Big fan of saxon but apart the choice of cover i didnt find it that remarkable. Its solid, but nothing original.
Im more of the opinion that if you do a cover it should bring something new to the table but i know saxon did it as a salute to the relevant bands so i understand why its similar.

I seldom listen to Saxon so probably not a good judge of what they do nowadays.

What I liked was the unusual choice and the fact that it is similar to the original but much more a rocker now.

Very true...kind of an obscure tune to cover and most bands would have gone with the usual suspects which have been done a lot anyway.

Always love me some saxon, especially unleash the beast onwards. Very underrated band and catalog.
The covers albums they did never really did much for me. As mentioned they are "bland" and "safe" not a knock against it, some people like covers to be very similar but i don't have much interest.
