Kane has been rumored to be one of the guest guitarists that will be filling in for Glen on the album with the original group. Much rather see that before a Desmond and whoever release.

Supposedly each new song on the original group album will have a guest guitarist to play Glen’s role. Interesting concept and opens up a lot of possibilities.

^^ Apparently 14 songs were recorded for the album. I'm not certain if all of them will make the shortlist, but if so that does open up a lot of possibilities re. potential guest guitarists.

I recall Michael saying that a couple of years ago; offhand I can't recall if I've read or heard anything different since then.

You aren't alone, first I've heard of it as well. We know Alice has recorded some stuff with Child some time ago, but that seemed more likely to be for a forthcoming Child solo album.
