4.5 hours (one way) for me. Fortunately, we didn't need a hotel.

just Manch and Glasgow, not too far[ish] but usually ends up a 4.5 ~ 5 hour trip depending on traffic. did them on consecutive days one tour, that was fun.

Glasgow to Lucca, Italy. Blended it into a holiday. Beautiful outdoor gig in ancient city. About 1,400 miles so nowhere close to the Wisconsin trip.

That’s a long way to go! Looks like a 12 hour flight from Chicago to Heathrow. Hope the band waited until you got there. (You are the winner so far )NotSoPerfect wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 10:24 pmI know that I'm not the winner, but London, England, from Wisconsin, USA.

Tampa, Fl. to Knebworth….2010…. Although I was visiting my father at the time…4403 miles apparently….. and a measly 4232 miles from Tampa to Glasgow this year to see The Hollywood Vampires

Norway to Sweden; Live In The Flesh tour, cancelled due to 80's Norwegian censorship.. That should probably be added to the timeline section, for that matter. (Bands like WASP were also cancelled at that time)
Norway to Denmark, Psychodrama tour.

I think you may have gotten the topic wrong... the prize is not how far away but, how near did he play?
Travel makes the Concert not just an event but, an adventure. Nothing wrong with that.
Who will top whom? I've never left the Free State for a show but, the last time I saw Alice he played less than 10 miles away & I had no traffic issues.

Of the 11 times I have seen him, he only played in my town once - Kalamazoo in 2006. Every other concert included travel. I’m jealous of the people who’ve seen him in other countries. That would be a gas.Daggers & Contracts wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 11:41 pmI think you may have gotten the topic wrong... the prize is not how far away but, how near did he play?

From Austria to Indio, California. By car, from Austria to Poland (11 hours on the way back home, but with a stop to see Bruce Springsteen along the way).

Re: What's the farthest you've ever traveled to see Alice?
Ok, how short a journey? I used to work in the building adjoining the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. My journey time to see Alice was approximately 30 steps. No sense of adventure at all.Daggers & Contracts wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 11:41 pmI think you may have gotten the topic wrong... the prize is not how far away but, how near did he play?
