Let me rephrase that then, when I asked Dennis if the OG’s have an album coming out , he said , there is nothing at this moment , but we are all open to it

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023
Been getting contradictory responses on any new OG material. Denis said something was recorded but doesn’t know if it will see the light of day and Michael Bruce clearly stated 8 or more songs were in the can with the OG with guest guitarists on the songs filling Glenn’s spot. I would think if the time was taken to get everyone involved in the process including guest guitarists, I would think we should see a release. The delay for me is confusing.

maybe there'd be an element of denial so any release would be huge surprise.

I think the days of a huge surprise are long gone. Rock isn’t what it used to be. It would though be a nice thing for the long time fan.

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023
From my perspective, namely what I've read, the information re. new ACG recordings hasn't been entirely consistent. I've read that 14 songs were recorded (in 2022) but I can't recall having read anything about any guest guitarists having been involved. Although speculation re. guest musicians is certainly understandable, I have also read that Producer Bob Ezrin was/is against having any guests participate; Bob wanted the recordings to feature the four surviving Group Members only.revinkevin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 6:05 pmBeen getting contradictory responses on any new OG material. One thing I'd like to state re. no definite info. about a release date: the previous new songs involving the Original Group Members that have appeared on Alice Cooper albums such as W2MN have been included on Alice's solo albums, not albums in which Michael, Dennis and Neal have equal ownership/'control' w/Alice over the contents. In which case it's likely up to Alice/Shep/Management to decide what ultimately happens regarding releasing any/all of the songs.
As Alice is currently still quite involved in his solo endeavours, etc. I think it could be just a matter of Alice/his Management deciding when will be the best time for putting out the songs.

I personally think The HV’s will become more prominent now Aerosmith are done. HV’s US East Coast tour in 2025 according to Alice

Guest guitarists ? Hopefully if it came to fruition….and I’m not holding my breath, there would be no guest musicians, maybe mashbir and Dolin if needed .revinkevin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 6:05 pmBeen getting contradictory responses on any new OG material. I think you’ve summarised correctly. To me, it would certainly be nice to see and would potentially be the final statement from the OGs.revinkevin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 9:59 pmI think the days of a huge surprise are long gone. More interesting for Alice has to be HV as there is a future there for as long as the guys enjoy it.
Keeping the solo show on the road is clearly the baseline for Alice but HV on the road looked to be where he was having real fun.At this point in a career fun surely has to come first.

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023
I just read an article that Alice had Suzi Quatro on stage with the group at Fridays show in Detroit for Schools Out. She said that she’s working on an upcoming album and her and Alice did a cover of Kick Out the Jams for it. Then the article stated that Alice is “eyeballing a surprise album for release later this year “. The suspense builds. The article also states about more Vampire work next year.

Finally some fresh information related to the new album. Hope it really is being planned for this year. The only project I worry about pushing the album to delay, is the HV Unleashed spirits documentary. I hope it doesn’t!revinkevin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 1:19 amI just read an article that Alice had Suzi Quatro on stage with the group at Fridays show in Detroit for Schools Out. Steven Crayn stood out on "Social Debris." For some reason, I kind of overlook guitar solos. Not that one.jacknifejohnny wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 1:46 amGuest guitarists ? Read another article today on Loudwire where Alice repeated the surprise album hopefully would be released this year. The only thing he added from the previous Detroit paper article was that the album is “unique “. Not sure if that means the OG group or that other hinted at Album that Kane Roberts was supposedly involved with.

This part worries me more than anything. Given the content of his last 3 albums, I'm inclined to believe Ezrin really did say that.jacknifejohnny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 1:41 amHe also said he wrote “Cold Cold Coffin” for Alice, but Ezrin told him “Alice doesn’t do horror anymore” ????????????
As someone who's been longing for the return of lyrically twisted/horror Alice in some form - the idea that he won't do 'horror' anymore is pretty, well, horrifying.
Alice is at his best when he combines camp, shock, horror and theatricality. And while I love Road and think it's a blast and I love Paranormal - I really miss the more horror-y side of Alice.
The 'garage rock' Alice is overdone, at this point. It was at its best on The Eyes of Alice Cooper, and it was great on Paranormal. But I'm ready for him to move on.

That is definitely gonna alienate some fans if true..

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023
I think “Cold Cold Coffin” is great. Eerie, atmospheric and catchy. Could easily stand in W2MN or any other Alice album. What a pity if Alice isn’t really going to do such songs.
