You have hit the nail on the head, they are the bangers. I can listen to the rest of it but those 4 are the true highlights.
The album is a classic 6 out of 10. just a bit above average. big boots is pure trash and magic bus just needs to be scratched off the album but them aside i enjoy it enough. 100 miles could have been epic but it feels like it was kneecapped to me. It should have had an epic outro, but feels like it was cut out.
Album cover wise, the last good one was brutal planet, the last great one was last temptation. Trash is my all time favorite. That cover is the coolest damn thing ever, he genuinely looks the coolest, sexiest, most dangerous in that picture, you can read anything into that. pure brilliance.
W2MN was such a disappointment for the cover, they had the perfect cover on the inside sleeve (the same as welcome but old decayed and rotten) instead he went full camp and big hat. sigh.
I really like the cover for
The Eyes of Alice Cooper. I dig the cover for
Road - but I'd also say the last 'great' cover was
The Last Temptation.
Trash - for as much as I don't like the album - has a great album cover.
Welcome 2 My Nightmare is one of the worst album covers of his career. It's just a digital, PhotoShop'd mess. Alice and camp go great together - but he veers into 'bad' camp, here. Especially with his expression and the strawberry jelly logo.
If
Raise Your Fist and Yell didn't exist, it'd be his worst.

I would say W2MN is worse that Raise Your Fist.
At least Raise Your Fist was cheesy because it was a cheesy 80s hair metal album.
W2MN I am not even sure what that album is but the cover was all wrong.
Brutal Planet was the last great cover imo.

W2MN cover would have been great of they hadn't gone for that godawful photo instead of painted artwork.

I honestly think "Trash" is his worst cover ever. Let's just face it, it's a clear cut rip-off of Michael Jackson's "Bad cover", right down to the logo/title. That cover was of course in turn parodied by Weird Al Yankovic on his "Even Worse" album, prior to "Trash". There seems to be a joke in there somewhere..
RYFY does indeed also have a horrid cover. The simple artwork on the inner sleeve is miles better and would clearly have worked for the actual cover instead. For some reason, this artwork is associated with Trash?
And yes, the cover for W2MN is atrocious. Again, the inner sleeve, which looked like a decayed version of the original, was miles better and should have been used instead.

The Last Temptation was the last great cover artwork. Right up there with his best.

Take a look at Alice's T-Shirt on the cover of 'Trash'
As many more people bought Trash than RYF, the Trash cover would be where they know the image from more then the inside sleeve of RYF which most don't own.

Again, let me say how cool it is to have a Glen Sobel drum solo in the studio here.
Move aside, mere drop of water - let the ocean pass.

I'm glad someone enjoyed it, He is competent, but man, i will never understand the love for him. I genuinely think he is the worst drummer alice has ever had on the stool.

I wasn’t a big fan of Jimmy Degraso after revisiting the Theatre of Death LP and Fistful of Alice

Constrictor and Trash are hair metal. RYFAY is heavy metal, and is the furthest thing from pop-rock aka hair metal. Thye Nightmare Returns and Live In The Flesh were also heavy metal, no-one in their right mind would call it hair metal..

I already liked this gimmick with the studio drum solo on the Kiss Revenge album, also produced by bob ezrin. A great way to end the "Road" album.
BTW, this is the first time I've heard negative comments about Glen Sobel as a drummer. As the previous speaker already wrote: Compare the rather rushed drumming on "A Fisful Of Alice" with any live performance by Sobel and tell me he's "the worst drummer alice has ever had". Bull...
I got a job in atlanta in a mall playing santa

I'm literally listening to fistful now and just finished watching the live in budapest gig. Degrasso is brilliant, intricate work on the kick drums. fast and precise stick work with a intricate high hat use.
Its all personal taste but i find Mr. Sobel to be much too boring who tends to over simplify his stick work with his pedal work being very bland. Glen feels like a teacher. No flair but can deliver what you need, a matt sorum if you will.

I jammed this album a lot when it came out, but admittedly hadn't touched it in quite a few months before this last week. With the excitement of seeing Alice again, I gave it another listen, and it still holds up well. I said a couple pages ago that The Big Goodbye was the best song by a wide margin, and I still think that's the case, but the most underrated one to me is Dead Don't Dance. Absolutely killer track that should be played live. I understand why they went with Welcome to the Show, but I think Dead Don't Dance would fit in really well too.

There's been no official update that I'm aware of for some time re. the 2nd album that's been completed, which is the one Alice recorded w/the other surviving Members of the Original Group in 2022. 14 songs were recorded, but it's presently not known when or what may be released.

Tend to agree. Finding myself playing Dead Don’t Dance at least once a week nowadays.

I asked Dennis about this at The B$B’s re-release bash in Texas a couple of months ago ….and he said, nothing has happened or been recorded by the OG’s, but himself, Mike and Neal are all up for it if it were to happen. I’m really hoping he has been sworn to some kind of secrecy, but , I wouldn’t hold your breath Ted….sadly. He also said he wrote “Cold Cold Coffin” for Alice, but Ezrin told him “Alice doesn’t do horror anymore” ????????????

I don't know why Dennis said that nothing's been recorded by the OG as both Michael Bruce and Alice have said or stated otherwise. As for holding my breath, I'm hoping for an announcement but I'm not making any guesses nor assumptions as to when that might happen. I know that Alice is still busy with his solo endeavours so as I think I've stated before in this Forum, that will likely preclude the release of new OG recordings en masse.

Maybe he couldn't say anything at the time. But he has stated on this forum that some songs were recorded and de hoped they would see the light of day.
These good little shocks must be working I’m so happy now

Go to the dr dreary forum - look for the “ A and E special “ thread that I started - I point blank asked him about the reunion tracks
