I was reading an article which was written by Vince Welnick's mother. Vince was The Tubes' pianist.

Lots of info on the California and Phoenix music scene in the 1960's. The Alice Cooper Group receives a few mentions, which are salted throughout the piece.
Here's the link:

Fan since Remote Control. They're doing a show in October at Ludlow Garage (where Alice played the Easy Action show).

First saw them on the Remote Control tour in Glasgow @ 1979 and managed to speak to Bill Spooner and Re Styles in the lane behind the Apollo after the show. They were both great and keen to speak for a few minutes. The thing which struck us at the time was that Re was all over my mate and acting as she had on stage which had these two 19yo boys going mad. Bill was serious though and started asking us about what albums we had and what were our favourite tracks. When I mentioned Smoke and Golden Boy from the Now album he seemed really delighted and started handing out handfuls of badges and stickers. Re calmed down as well and spoke completely differently. At the end they thanked us for being fans and Re gave both of us a kiss on the cheek and sent us on our way. A great night!

I’m now wondering if there is a link between some of the comments in the article about the stage antics and their attitude that night. Were they starting to have the same views as Vinnie’s mother about the show v the music?

Enjoy your gig.

Once a band knows your keeping track of them they are more likely to give you some of the info you seek.
If they think you're just gushing about them they have a tendency to hold back. I had a brief conversation w/Paul Weller & Bruce Foxton of The Jam but, sat with another Fan backstage & had an interesting conversation with Rick Buckler post gig. Paul was swarmed & Bruce was tired from the gig.
But, Rick offered us a fag (I don't smoke) & declined.
That was the "Trans-Global Unity Express Tour" to promote the album.
Great Show! Plus, a good set w/Horns. It was filmed & released.
Paul formed the Style Council shortly after.
