Just a bit of fun and not meant to be for anything heated.

Buying all the albums on vinyl over last 2 months, Right now I am listening to Special Forces and just got to..

"Girlsies play with girlsies and boysies with boysies
Bored with one another, like old broken christmas toysies
Kids are all hot and their parents so are noisy

Ouch...has to be the worst of all Alice lyrics surely? :rotfl:

I always hate "I'm so pissed-off-istic" from pessimystic.

It especially does my head in as on all other versions of the chorus the lyrics are good. (ie "I'm so fatalistic" & I'm so nihlistic) So i have no idea why he would change the lyrics to that. It always makes me cringe a little on an otherwise awesome song.

hm : always thought it was kind of an observation of how relational standards were changing in those days( early seventies) : boysies with boysies and girlsies with girslies was something that may not have been so frequent or obvious in the previous generations... (generation landslide..) But I could be wrong of course..

I don't have any issue with the meaning...it's the choice of words and the last syllable "sies" tacked on forcefully to make it rhyme, it just sounds awful to me. I actually think this is my favourite black out album despite that though.

I think as a rule Alice can be considered an excellent lyricist with a good dollop of humour and a relatively small number of clunkers. My pet hate is the cliched 'cuts like a knife' .... a variation of which appears in Nothings Free on the brilliant Last Temptation where Alice sings 'cuts like a double edged knife'. A bit too close for comfort for me.

These lyrics from '(In Touch With) Your Feminine Side' are dreadful; I shudder when I hear them and not a shudder in a scared way!

You got a taste on your face
You got some scare in your hair
You got some rock in your walk
And some hips in your slip

You got stars on your scars
You got surprise in your eyes
You put some bite in the night
You got some sin on your skin

There's a few lines on this album that I think are pretty bad. Alice hyped the concept so much that I was hoping for some really clever lyrics (and there are some that I quite like), but overall it was a bit of a let down for me. Whether they're the worst of the worst... I'm not sure, but the below I've always found subpar, just seem a bit clumsy.

I'm Hungry
"I got a bed in my basement fit for two
I got some chloroform and handcuffs just for you"

I Know Where You Live
"I don't like the guy in the suit
Or that street punk in the combat boots
You may not see them again
I showed them a quick but painful end"

At least the lyrics you quote explain what is happening, the ones I quote seem to be a 'guide' lyric that was never completed properly!

I don't mind that song, had not noticed that line, considered edgy in the writing process at the time maybe?

Thrill My Gorilla

"Sukie honey, we're gonna turn back the clock
To a time when we danced to volcanic rock"

the only lines I could conceive Alice actually writing in this song are:

"Where were you when monkey turned to man
Where were you when the monkey hit the fan"

I would guess the rest was all Kane.

How about anytime he rhymes ‘face’ and ‘disgrace’
That same rhyme is on dirty diamonds, paranormal and Detroit stories, to name but three without thinking!

I wonder if he helped to write We Will Rock You?

I had a friend who decided he didn't like Alice Cooper because of the "We can't even think of a word that rhymes" line in School's Out! Probably one of my favourite lyrics from Alice, but my friend claimed if proved that Alice was a lazy lyricist! :rotfl:

Dennis wrote in his book that he actually came up with the "We can't even think of a word that rhymes" line in School's Out, not Alice.

Any that begin with:

I'm the man who...
I'm the killer that...
I'm the freak...
I'm the guy...

You get the picture.

"Step On You" from RYFAY especially the chorus I just can't stand it. Lyrically I think Alice went down a notch in mentality on those albums like Constrictor and RYF&Y. I agree with author Martin Popoff referred to those albums as "Kiddie Rock" from his book "The Big Book of Hair Metal". Compare those albums to LITD, Killer, B$B, even his solo WTMN, GTH, FTI, even L&W! No contest!

Yeah, there are some bad lyrics in this thread, but nothing will ever top this line from Why Trust You:

The noose is getting tighter
Your face is turning whiter
You can stuff it up your muffin and go stick it in the fire

That has to be a Steven Tyler contribution, right?
