What's The Story With Night Shift?

I know that Alice was working on an album called "The Night Shift" before he decided to do a Nightmare 2.

I was just wondering what people know about this album. I've heard different things about it. I seem to recall Alice saying it was a concept album where a sinister DJ was playing songs by different fictional bands, so that the album would have a variety of different sounds.

I've also heard that NS was going to be a sequal to ACAS. Anyone know which is correct?
