Hi Ernie.

First of all, allow me to say that I'm a big fan of your album covers.
I just came back from Prague, where I visited an exhibition of Alfons Mucha, a Czech artist. One small piece of art I found particulary interesting, since it resembles an album cover we all know. My question to you is, did you know about Mucha and did he somehow influence your art?

All the best for you! Have a nice 2012

"Hello schinkengott" and Happy New Year!

I am so pleased that you like the work, we all had (and still continue to have) great fun doing it! Now to best answer your really great two questions in one fell swoop... YES!

Drew was from a "Fine Arts" world, where "Illustrators" were not acknowledged at all, so to him, he had never heard of amazing artists like Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish, Cole Philips,Abdrew Wyeth J.C. Leyendecker and Alfons Mucha (one of my very, all time favorites).

When Drew came to me in 1972 he had exposure to all of the above as well as many, many more incredible artists who had come long before him. If you look at the early body of work Drew had done with Pacific Eye & Ear (which I have 70 of) you will see all of them represented in his work, on his way to an own able style... a style that was to make him what he is today, The Most Collected Artist In The World.

I hope that helps answer your very intuitive questions, also since you have gone this far, perhaps you wouldn't mind going a bit further. Here is a story that I wrote about this very question, and here is the link to it:

http://originalalbumcoverart.com/oaca/

I hope that if you do take the time to check it out, that you will enjoy it as much as i did in writing it. Thanks again - Ernie

Hello, and how is everyone doing on this awesome Friday night? I wanted to give you an advanced heads up, I will be on the radio this coming Monday night, March 19th at 8:00 pm EST. I will be interview for a couple of hours on the UNIR1 Network.
It's a hot music cyber on-line station and I will be talking with Senior Program director and DJ Ted Vanboort. We will be looking at and discussing album cover design as well as a lot about Alice and the 12 covers that i have done for him over the last 40 years. We will also be talking about some of the other 213 covers and over 500 logos and corporate identities that I have created to date.

I will also be talking about some of the other unique clients that retain me, taking calls from listeners and listening to some great music. So if you have a Alice question that's been driving you crazy and I might be able to answer it... I will. Maybe we've been friends on-line or facebook and you just want to listen in and say Hi... nows your chance!

I hope that you will join us, and I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you and have a great weekend. - Ernie

P.S. I have attached a link to an announcement about it all, so check it out and I see you on the radio: http://bit.ly/FOFzJV

Hello everyone, I wanted to personally thank each and everyone who tuned in the UNIR1 radio broadcast last night. We really had a great time and I was able to share some Back Stories and take some questions. Ted VanBoort (the DJ whose show it was that I was on) called me today to tell me that the ratings, listeners and demographics were higher than his show had ever received, by more than three times. That's some crazy good stuff!!

This Monday we will start with the formation of Pacific Eye & Ear and all the album covers that we had done in the first seven years, for Alice Cooper, The Guess Who, Burton Cummings, Jefferson Airplane, Cheech & Chong, Black Sabbath, and The Doors just to name a few. If you missed last nights interview they will pe posting it in a pod and I will supply you the link. I would also like to invite you to tune in next Monday and join the conversation. - Ernie

GREAT Q & A!

Latricia Blackwidow Lenhart asks:

hey! yeah its me again just wonderin what the most complex or challenging album to work on was?[/i]

Good morning Latricia and that's a great question and I have the answer. There were several starting with The Doors "Full Circle" because of its construction and interaction involved by the consumer. Lou Reed's "Berlin" album because of the amount of complicated photo shoots. Then next would be the box set for Alice Cooper "Old School" because of the sheer number of elements contained in the oversize school desk and last but not least Alice's latest "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" for all the above plus the amount of turn around time from start to finish is like running the 100 yard dash!!! Thank you so very much for your question and I hope that I have helped answer it. - Ernie

Ernie, you once said that you had the privilege of working side by side with many great and talented artists. True. But, they can say the same about you.
Let's take the iconic tongue logo of the Stones, whether or not it's based on Mick's mouth doesn't matter. It's red and juicy and it has everything to do with rock n' roll. You are very creative and thanks for your art.

"ALICE COOPER'S "OLD SCHOOL" AND SO MUCH MORE!!"

Because of the limited number of packages released then quickly gobbled up by his hard core fans, I have received a ton of Email requests to talk about the new Alice Cooper "Old School" Box Set that I just completed a few months ago.

So, that will be one of the album cover/packages that we will be discussing on Monday nights show. For those of you that are not what the package looks like here's a link that will bring you a bit more up to speed:

http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/photos/ErnieCefalu.php

Also there will be a "Very Special Guest" stopping bye, to fill us in on what's been going on as well as talking about one of my biggest covers and our working on it together.

As promised we will also be giving out the first two clues to winning a numbered and signed piece from over 250 pieces in the OriginAlbumCoverArt.Com Collection.

All in all, its gonna be one of those shows that you aren't going to want to hear about from all your friends so tune in, turn on and check us out! Thank you - Ernie
