I was wondering Dennis if you guys went to see Enter The Dragon when it came out at the cinema in 73 and if so what your thoughts were at the time.

I applaud the absolute randomness of this question.

I don't recall seeing the film at that time but I would venture to say that Alice did because he's always been the first to see films as soon as they're released.

Vince and I used to go to outdoor Drive-In Movies together in the Phoenix days.
We saw films based on Edgar Allen Poe like House of Usher and Tales of Terror, and Hitchcock's Psycho.
We saw West Side Story. We favored Peter Sellers films and James Bond films.
Vince and I arranged a double date for that Drive-In. Vince had a new car. We chose a lengthy black and white war movie called The Longest Day thinking our dates would be bored and therefore find us more interesting. Plus, the long film would give us plenty of time to make our moves. When the film finally ended, Vince couldn't find his car keys and the Drive-In guy was threatening to lock the gates and make us walk home. Vince found his keys in the bottom of his box of popcorn just in time. Our dates laughed about how we blew our cool.

The group saw Barbarella in '68. That influenced our stage clothes.
We also saw 2001 A Space Oddity in Hollywood.
We arrived at the red carpet premier of Petullia, starring Julie Christy, in a beat up old car that was loud and smoky.

The band saw, and loved, Evil Roy Slade in '72.

After the previous question...
When did you or the Band (where?) see "Easy Rider"?
Did you & the rest of the band ever cross paths with Dennis, Jack & Peter?
Could have been an interesting encounter. :8):
P.S. I miss going to Drive-In's :(

I don't remember where I saw Easy Rider. Most likely in L.A. I didn't get the chance to meet any of those actors.
The film did depict threatening situations similar to what Alice Cooper ran into.

Thanks Dr. D.
Wasn't sure you'd have crossed paths with any of them.
The movie though is iconic!

What about “The Wicker Man” ? Did Alice Cooper run into any threatening situations like that?

Our situations were mostly verbal rudeness and occasionally threats. A few times there was shoving and altercations. There were the pickup chases out of town (Easy Rider). But most of the dangerous stuff came from a few crowd members when we were on stage.

I wrote about some of those incidents in my book.

I really loved your book. One of the best rock n roll memoirs I’ve read (I’ve read a lot!)
