The Decline of Western Civilization Part II

Post by VinceRaven » Mon Oct 04, 2021 4:54 pm

Hey Dennis,

The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, released in 1988, has a rerecorded version of Under My Wheels over the end credits with additional (maybe ad-libbed?) lyrics.

Were you consulted on this new version at all?

And do you have any opinion on how it sounds?

In fact, while we're on the subject, do you have any thoughts on the film itself?

Thanks

Just in case you don't know, that version of "Under My Wheels" is by Guns 'N Roses (well, Axl, Slash, and Izzy), with Alice and Axl trading vocals.

I guess I haven't seen this film. If I have, I don't remember it.
I'm pretty sure that this is the first time I've heard this version of Wheels. I like it. It maintains the swing R&R feel and the energy.
It's great to hear other musicians covering my songs. The Foo Fighters played Wheels in their set on one of their tours. I think some other bands have recorded it as well. It's a fun song to play.

Dont forget Kane roberts and Ken Mary (was it kip winger at this time? 1988 i think it was) i'm not overly sure if Slash is on it or just Izzy, i have read it both ways tbh.
Great version tho, love kanes solo.
