I was reading Michaels book last night and he said the band paid $500 each for the hologram to be made. Does this mean you might actually own it if you paid for its comission?

I have read that it resides somewhere in Spain.

Dali approached us with the idea.
I don't recall paying for the hologram so I asked Gail Rogers, who worked at Alive at that time. Gail was the one that arranged everything. She said she doesn't remember any money being paid out, or in. I also asked Joe Greenberg, Shep's co-manager, who also arranged it, and he said, no, it didn't ring a bell.

Even if we had paid for it, I would imagine we would have to show proof in order to claim any ownership. Does anyone still have their receipts from 1973?

Is it still in The Dali Museum in St Petersburg Florida?

As I understand it the 'original' is in the Dali museum in Figueras, Spain, while the one in St Petersburg is actually a copy/replica - and while it's always there it isn't always on display, as they rotate their exhibits periodically.

The projection equipment must have needed an upgrade between then & now.
Is there a "true original" left?

The hologram was featured in the virtual Dreams of Dali. I saw it at the Dali Museum in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Of course viewing it via the full virtual headgear is far more dramatic than this video of it, but this is still pretty cool.
