Hey Dennis,
One of the more curious things on Si's excellent and exhaustive timeline (for me anyway) is the gig on November 21, 1970 at the University of Detroit, when you play with The Stooges, Damnation and.........Jane Fonda tops the bill.
To put it bluntly, what was that all about?!
Thanks
Jane Fonda

Re: Jane Fonda
I thought this happened at the University of Colorado (perhaps it happened more than once). Jane Fonda's protest speeches were highly controversial to the point where they often occurred on short notice. At that point, Alice Cooper were treading waves and taking any gig we could get, and not keeping much track of who else might be on the bill.VinceRaven wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 4:51 pmHey Dennis,

We played the show but Fonda was cancelled due to threats.
Re: Jane Fonda
I should also say that in 1968, Jane Fonda starred in the futuristic film Barbarella, which was an influence on how we dressed. And the actor John Philip Law that played the blind angel was our landlord at the band house in Hollywood.
Also, the show at the University of Colorado had the thickest haze of pot smoke we had ever encountered.
Bomb threats? Far Out!

Excellent answer as ever Dennis. Thanks.
And I see Si has already updated the timeline to include your comments on here! Fantastic.

Hanoi Jane & The ACG. Wow!
Even though it didn't happen. What a Bill!
I hope The Stooges were on the top of their game.
Or, had Iggy just fired Dave Alexander?
Dr. D. ?

I don't recall if Dave had joined the Stooges at that point.Daggers & Contracts wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 11:37 pmHanoi Jane & The ACG. Wow!

You'll have to google the timing on that.

"Alexander was dismissed in August 1970" -Wiki
After The Goose Lake Show. Read it in the liner notes.
Just didn't have the date at hand when I asked the question.
Replaced by a Roadie at the time, did you see/hear the set?

I saw the Stooges perform quite a few times but I don't recall that particular night.Daggers & Contracts wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 10:42 pm"Alexander was dismissed in August 1970" -Wiki

More memorable was the Eastown shows, the Midsummer Night in Cincinnati (Iggy walking on the hands of the crowd), and the Fillmore East (when Iggy smashed a raw salmon on Owsley's monitors and Owsley blamed us and later took it out on us at the Medicin Ball Caravan show in Washington, DC).
