Re: Alice Cooper 50

It's been almost six years since I started this thread. Seems like yesterday. It's hard to believe that the original band created all of those great albums in roughly the same amount of time. Here's to the future - whatever it may bring.
The suspense is terrible. I hope it'll last!

Re: The 'Secret' Next Album

Yup, I was at the Glasgow show, and it was magical to see the original band come out for that mini set. I cant see much more than that in the future. I'm sure Dunaway and Smith could handle it. Not so sure about Bruce. His weight seems to fluctuate. As for the proposed album, give us a couple of ep...

Re: Screaming Lord Sutch on Alice Cooper

Enjoying a bit of research here and found a bit more which would put Screaming Lord Sutch much closer to Alice than you’d have thought. A quote from Nick Simper of Deep Purple about being at the Playboy After Dark TV show in Oct 1968. “It was here that Ritchie and I were reunited with our old boss,...

Re: Screaming Lord Sutch on Alice Cooper

Let's be honest for a moment. Lord Sutch was barely known in the UK music scene I wasn’t there at the time but I have a collection of NME magazines from the 60’s and he was regularly featured. I gather that he and his band were a popular live act rather than a chart sensation. That kind of underlin...

Re: The 'Secret' Next Album

I'm also hoping for an artistic album cover, one that looks like it took some time and energy to create. A painting would be deliriously welcome.

Alice at the Eddie Trunk thing

From the front page: "Alice showed up at DJ Eddie Truck's 40th Anniversary bash at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas this week to play a short three song set backed by Glen Sobel, Orianthi, Robbie Crane with Van Halen's Michael Anthony joining in on School's Out with Sheryl Cooper and Kip Winger on b...

Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper

Since we’re doing the marketing team’s job for them, let’s be specific:
-Coffee Mugs (15oz+)
-Simple Designs, FFS.
-Pill dispensers (JK)
-No Teddy Bears (NK)

Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper

I am of two minds. 1. I am glad that we are not oversaturated, ala AC/DC Back in Black. 2. I am sad that we don't see ANYTHING to pick from besides the crap that we've seen for years. I have said before that I find the selection from the "Official Store" to be substandard. Here's hoping that someon...

Re: Slicker Than A Weasel

I guess I'm a bad fan. I had never heard of "Slicker..." until this thread. I checked it out on You Tube, and the performance is surprisingly good. The band members were unusual, so I had to look them up. Jefferson Kewley's guitar sounds remarkably good. I'd never heard of him until now. The things...

Glen's technique/style

Did Glen play his solos off the cuff - maybe playing by feel? Another way to ask - did he play the same thing repeatedly, or did it always come out different? It doesn't sound like he was winging it by any means, but his style of playing is tough to replicate.

Re: Would you visit an Alice Cooper avatar show ?

Simply, no. I have no interest in what the people creating these things think my experience should be. I think this Kiss thing will go over like a fart in church.

Re: The Lace and Whiskey Era

Since we are talking about that era, let's go back one album and discuss "Goes to Hell." This has always been W2MN to me. They even go as far as referencing Steven on the sleeve. Regardless, I think the album stands up pretty well. In the plus column, we have Alice doing some big vocal work, the in...

I bought the Trash hoodie also and it's pretty nice. i have had people stop me in the store wanting to know where they could get one.
This kind of goes with what I'm talking about. That Trash hoodie is completely sold out. I wonder why it's still listed with other stuff for sale? To rub it in?

Re: The Lace and Whiskey Era

This album has always been too much for me. Too much production, too many sounds, and Alice looked like he was channeling Randolph Mantooth . I remember joking with my friend Dave that they should have called it "Alice Cooper Goes to Hollywood." (I thought that was pretty clever for a 13 year old.)...

Re: The Alice Cooper Store

Seems like there was never a big change when the marketing/merchandise changed hands a while ago. Same old same old, as far as this discerning buyer is concerned. I have only ever paid for one thing through the official store, and it was not a stupid teddy bear. Hopefully, they are gearing up for s...

The Alice Cooper Store

Seems like they're unloading stuff, and not replenishing supplies. Sets my mind a-racing.
