Re: Any Reports of the Albuquerque, NM show ?
we're at a stage where a lot of these vintage artists don't really shake it up too much as far as their setlist. Blue Oyster Cult have basically ben playing the same show for years (and I saw them last month and they were fantastic) Alice has a very dependable repertoire of songs he occasionally rot...

I likesome some of Mansons music, own a few of his albums and have been to see him live.
That said, he is making a bit of a goose of himself. He's intelligent and articulate when he wants to be. Here he comes off as desperate and obnoxious for the sake of it.

Re: Alice solo tracks that are now classics in your opinion
Poison, as much as some cringe when they hear it, would have to defined as a classic. Was a considerable hit, has certainly endured the test of time, is instantly recognizable and still occasionally gets played in the nightclubs down here. A massive generation of fans were introduced to Alice throug...

I find it the opposite way, I actually think this features some very sharp and witty lyrics.grim fact wrote:The least listened-to album of all AC albums. By me anyway.
All over the place, and of little quality in the songwriting department.

Re: Frank Sinatra Did Not Cover "You And Me" By Alice Cooper
We all know Alice embellishes or "dresses up" a lot of his anecdotes. I personally don't see why it would bother anyone. Alice is a pure showman and entertainer, if there was a vindictive or malicious edge to his stories, then that's one thing. But there's not. Most "legendary" tales that have been...

Re: Favourite Alice Story
I remember him once telling a story about how some kids gave him a box with a cat's heart in it. Does anyone remember that or have a link to that interview? I think he said it on an American chat show. Maybe Letterman. He also said that story on Rove, an Australian chat show, when he was in town fo...

if he's adamant he want to keep covers in there, then at least scale it back to three or four songs (and stay in character) substiute the dropped tracks with some of the rare gems that were apparently discussed and even rehearsed. lol. now that i know a steven/i am made of you medley went as far as ...

Re: Opening Night SPOILERS!!!!
man, a steven/i am made of you medley...that sounded too good to be true. i think the setlist is fine, not a fan of covers, but the alice set is ok...but if a couple of the songs mentioned here, whether it's i am made of you, hell is living without you or he's back could make their way in, it would ...

Re: Musicans who found religion
This is all a very interesting and though provoking discussion, but ultimately, if Alice felt he needed to still "act" all rock star ALL the time, I'm not sure if the general perception of Alice Cooper would be any better. The perception of Alice Cooper in 2012 is that of a genuinely good, family ma...

two things i never go out of my way to find out or listen to when it comes to my favorite entertainers: their politics and their god. i admire alice and have loved every facet of his career as a singer, a songwriter, a performer and an entertainer. i personally switch off when it comes to discussing...

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day: DADA
>he releases a "safe", by-the-numbers hair metal album in constrictor (not trashing the album totally, it has it's place) and he's a pop culture icon again. go figure. I don't think that was the main reason. I think it's more because having become sober, he went back out on tour and that made him m...

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day: DADA
my absolute favourite alice cooper album. this encompasses alice cooper at his best in a nutshell...dark, twisted, humorous, experimental, abstract...substance abuse may have been destroying alice physically, but ironically he didn't suffer artistically. although nobody seemed to notice or care sinc...

Re: New book: Welcome to My Nightmare
Got my copy of the book yesterday and am about 60 pages in. I have to say the book is extremely well written and entertaining, it is worth a read, although the factual errors are simply inexcusable on every level. The parts of the story that we "know" to be factual however are still presented in suc...
