Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Does Sheryl have any input? Shep has final say on all things Alice. It's been that way for quite a long time...in fact...a very long time. That is basically correct, but it's not the same as Alice being described by some as a "puppet". For example: Alice wants the show to feature a giant spider fal...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

That is NOT what I said at all. And I didn't said you did. But that's what I keep hearing, which previously was that Shep decides what gets played. The Bob information is new, but even more paints a picture that others tell Alice what to do. But that isn't true as I said. "Alice, Bob and Shep are a...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

But still, I don't see why a producer of an album would have any input on what is played in a show. But then again, it's bad enough if, supposedly, the manager has a say in that. If you are referring to Ezrin he is VERY involved in the show. He is more than just an album producer for Alice. I have ...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Remember being very disappointed when he didn’t appear on Dirty Diamonds (though he does appear on the photo in the cd booklet 😅) Although Eric Singer is pictured on the album sleeve he does NOT play on the album. When the band went into the studio Tommy Clufetos was still in the band. He left at t...

I’m no drummer either but there is a very noticeable difference on W2MN between Mullins and Neal.

You mean Paranormal.

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

I won't claim to be drum expert (I can keep a beat for my demos and that's about it), but as musician (guitar and bass) whose played with a lot of drummers over my life on stage and in the studio, I have to say I didn't hear anything awful about his playing. His timing was on, the fills we're good,...

Also on that RS list was Larry Mullen Jr. I liked him on Paranormal, his drumming on "Holy Water", in particular, stood out.
Really? I thought his drumming on Paranormal was pretty awful!

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Oh, well. Chuck told me that they don't choose the songs. And just because Alice says something, doesn't absolutely make it true. They don't CHOOSE the songs, but they can always put forward suggestions. It isn't like the band never talk to Alice! For example, some years ago, I can't remember the e...

Sorry if I'm being dense (just woken up) but I'm still unclear exactly what 'Re-Live The End' IS if it isn't 'Unsung Radio'...
A different compilation?

Re: "Road" - Reviews

That's a Bingo! To the quoted point, No, that was (and is) not a question. I've started a "I hate Nita" thread so we can get this one back on track. I won't be mad if the other thread goes away. I'm just sick of the vocal opinions here. :axe: Of course it won`t be allowed. But your point is valid -...

Opps, sorry I deleted the double post without realising you had edited this one and removed you original text.
My mistake. Only just woken up!

Yes, Kane has posted on facebook hinting that he will be working with Alice again soon.

Re: "Road" - Reviews

A little bird told me that she got a nice little nest egg for coming back after she flew the Coop and that ruffled a few feathers in the hen house. Rubbish. As has been repeatedly said she never left the band, just took time out to do something different. She didn't need any inducement to return. E...

Re: How many times have you seen an Alice concert?

A couple of things worth mentioning here. Surely a key factor here is age? Audiences, particularly comparing UK v Europe, are old. Yes, gigs we all remember as great crowds were in smaller venues but we were also 10 -20 years younger, or more. I hate seated gigs but keep meeting fans who simply can...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

If she, in particular, is so amazing then why would Alice and Bob not use what she/they bring to the table? It makes no sense. It's laughable. Congratulations. You've finally caught up to what some of have been saying for years! It IS madness. Same goes for Ryan and Chuck, and to a degree Glen and ...

Re: How many times have you seen an Alice concert?

"Alice" doesn't really have any say in the venues he plays. It's all down to the promoters and what venues are offered. And the promoters have deals with all these crappy arenas which makes them more cost effective/profitable even if they don`t sell the full capacity of the venue. Sure, he could re...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

If Nita is selling and doing so well then why did she come back?? You'd think someone who's career and album is doing so well would step out on her own. She never left the band. She took time out to try something different and then returned once that tour was done. No big deal. If you read the anno...

Re: How many times have you seen an Alice concert?

I think if Alice dropped down to mid sized venues, Brixton academy type size 3-4k, he would pack them in comfortably and would be less reliant on random people who Don't know Alice other than poison or schools out. Sadly Alice doesn't seem interested in dropping down to smaller venues - presumably ...

Re: How many times have you seen an Alice concert?

London Astoria 97 My first Alice concert! it was so good. But did anyone go see Astoria on the rock and roll carnival tour (1999 i think it was) it was sublime, one of, if not my all time fave one i have attended. Those Astoria shows were just amazing, some of the best ever. Great band and great ve...

There should be some huge numbers here not least from Si himself.
I think it's somewhere around 160-170.
