Re: “Elected” Promo Film

We knew Stacy Keach when he was a young actor. He and his film partner treated us to private screenings of two of their films. One was a beautiful roam through Morocco, which was heavy on colorful visual transitions and, as I recall, didn't have a plot or even any people in it. I think they were sh...

Re: “Elected” Promo Film

I've never particularly liked the Elected promo film either. I like the promo film for Teenage Lament '74 more, and I believe it was also filmed in NYC. Though I couldn't see the correlation between 'the ACG as prison jailbirds who escape' visuals and the song topic, it made for some interesting vi...

Re: UK Tickets

AXS are a bag of shite.

Some of us prefer real tickets and request as much, only for them to send them as an email print off with the excuse of “so you get them on time”, when all they really care about is the money they can save by ripping off the customer that keeps them in a job!

There is an average review of the Swansea concert in The Guardian

It probably wasn’t woke enough for The Guardian.

As Rod Stewart once said “all journalists should be shot”

Re: Setlist

Swansea was great. My only criticism was the guitars weren’t loud enough, most of the solos weren’t cutting through. It’s a new venue so must have been a challenge, especially with 3 guitars. I’m sure they’ll get it right for the rest of the tour. Highlight for me was the musical question and answer...

Re: Bob Ezrin, Before and After

The way I saw it, beginning with LITD all the way through BDB, Bob Ezrin didn’t just record your songs as you originally created them but was a very active producer for you guys, often deconstructing your songs and building them back up again. Neal has often said that Bob was the 6th member of Alic...

Re: Billion Dollar Babies - intermission music.

For me it’s the greatest piece of music ever written. I first heard it in 1973 when i got a bootleg tape of the Boston Gardens show. I became obsessed with it, got the score out the library, took up violin again and adapted as much as i could of it for guitar. I was lucky enough to see the Moscow Ph...

Re: Extended versions

On the Raped and Freezin Quad mix, the 4 bars that follow the first chorus during which Alice says “ok boys”, is simply repeated after the second chorus, but without vocals before the guitar solos come in. Those second 4 bars after the second chorus were just cut on the non Quad version and the guit...

Re: Studio Amps

Bob Ezrin “On ‘School's Out’ we didn't put the guitars through an amplifier at all: we just plugged them directly into a Spectrasonic mixing console and absolutely creamed the mic preamps. I really wanted the guitars to be bratty sounding, so we went for ultradistortion. The preamp level was turned ...

Re: LIVE at The Cheetah?

How I wish I could see the Medicine Ball Caravan performance. I own the vynil of the soundtrack, unfortunately it is a fake live recording (edit of the album version with added audience at the end). I spent years chasing this record as I believed t was a real live song. What a deception ! I have ne...

Canary Islands 1972

Hi Dennis,

Can you remember the name of the hotel near the sand dunes on Gran Canaria where you wrote ‘Generation Landslide’ on top of the not completely built hotel roof, that you were the first guests of?

Re: Gold discs

This is great stuff Dennis! Do you know when you received your platinum disc for LITD? As when I google MCA-3566-PL5 it brings up a 1983 album by Men Without Hats: https://www.discogs.com/release/8657162-Men-Without-Hats-Rhythm-Of-Youth If you got your disc after 1983 then it's likely that you coul...

Alice today...2021 Alice? He's embarrassing, he makes me sick to my stomach.

The tank is empty, there's nothing left. Alice is washed up. He's nothing but a sorry, embarrassing nostalgia act playing the hits

Roxie also seemed to suggest the band would be wearing masks for the whole show (Alice of course can't, being the prime vocalist) but I could have misunderstood that. I haven’t seen anything up on YouTube yet from last nights show, but if the band are wearing masks for the whole show, the backing v...

My mate just asked...What do you need for that, "proof of vaccine or lateral flow test or both"....something to think about that MIGHT be needed as it never even crossed my mind when booking The rules that start on October 1st will require a vaccine passport, to prove you've had two jags. We have t...
