Alice/Ace at Gilford NH 9/18/21-Possible spoilers

Despite the aggravation at trying to get tickets and LiveNation's all but extortionary added fees, very enjoyable show last night. Lovely night, nice relaxed Audience vibe (maybe helped by the pungent weed I kept smelling-and seeing a joint passed down the row in front of us) and performances by two...

Songs to play

Hello Mr Dunaway, My wife and I got back from a road trip (North central New Hampshire to above Baltimore MD and back) visiting family, some friends and a stroll down Memory lane. Hitting bad traffic backups returning which was helped by many CD's. Played all the Blue Coupe releases as well as BDS L...

Re: Re-evaluating Alice

Just about EVERY "Classic" rocker isn't as good now as they were back then. Either stop buying whatever they put out or be glad They still can perform . Haven't really been crazy about any new album since W2MN and feel the cover songs should stop. But, nothing really awful and He still brings it on ...

Re: Dali Hologram

I was reading Michaels book last night and he said the band paid $500 each for the hologram to be made. Does this mean you might actually own it if you paid for its comission? I have read that it resides somewhere in Spain. Dali approached us with the idea. I don't recall paying for the hologram so...

More General questions

Hello Mr Dunaway, Been listening to a lot of ACG and DD material the last week or so and would like some clarification 1- Usually it seems the first name listed in the credits is responsible for the lyrics. Did Glen have anything to do with that for "Gutter Cats VS The Jets" or did He work more on t...

GREATEST HITS sleeve

Hello Mr Dunaway, Thanks again for investing Your time on this forum. My ACG journey really started when I found GH on cassette in an Army Post Exchange (AKA a PX) a few days after Christmas of 1974. Having an early December birthday (12/7), I certainly had extra cash to get this, even at a whopping...

Re: Michael Bruce's solo album in 1975

Some good observations by all here... In the late 90's, "the Igster" called Me to let Me know He had found IN MY OWN WAY and I was able to get my own copy the next day (at the Very missed Record and Tape Trader chain). Like Pitkin, I was also disappointed by IMOW and couldn't believe this was the s...

Re: Your most treasured Alice items?

A dog eared BILLION DOLLAR BABY paperback, some autographed CD sleeves, a photo of Alice with Me and my wife (Separate photos) and would have to say the top one for Me is the photo of Me with Neal, Michael and Dennis that is autographed by the three of them and hanging on the wall.

Questions about EASY ACTION

Hello Mr Dunaway, Been spending a lot of time with EASY ACTION lately. Despite David Briggs's opinion. think the album sounds very good. Love the short songs, great playing by all of You on "Below Your Means" (really enjoy Your slinky notes around the 3:00 mark) and it seems that on "Return Of The S...

Re: Being An Alice Cooper Fan in the Early 70s

Being an Alice Cooper fan in the early 70s was not always easy. In his book, Mike Bruce talked about how the band attracted its fair share of bent arrows. Bob Greene mentioned in his book that some of the fans he saw at the shows seemed to be brain damaged. In junior high school, a really cute girl...

Re: 16 Magazine 1973

16 magazine came out with almost a 60 page magazine dedicated to Alice Cooper after the Spring 1973 Billion Dollar Babies tour wrapped. Neal said the magazine was not "us" and I get that, but ever since I saw you guys on ABC's In Concert, I was buying every magazine with an Alice Cooper article and...

Got the DVD of DOAMH and my copy plays fine in all areas. Going to listen to the Commentary later-am interested in what is said about the ACG portion. Just be aware that it's quite the Dark comedy.

Re: Never Been Sold Before

"NBSB" is a killer track! Love how the second guitar just jumps in-used to turn the balance over to one speaker, so I could hear that part clearly. Good times.

Re: Diary of mad housewife experience

I believe the Director Richard Perry reached out to us because he wanted the scene to have a hip underground feel, although it's more likely that Joe and Shep reached out to them. The film was well publicized, mostly because the title was rather intriguing for the times, and it did help validate Al...

Re: The Schools Out album

I remember the first time I played School’s Out album I loved “Blue Turk” on first spin it's amazing.
Did you ever perform this live even though I know you didn’t have a traveling horn section just for one number but any attempt or discussion to do a live version? Thanks I think we ran it down a c...

Re: Management Contract

I thought we had signed with Joe and Shep before the Newport Pop Fest, but I'm not positive. Yes, Glen's parents were at the signing of the management contracts at the band house on Quebec in the Hollywood Hills. So were Alice's parents and Michael Bruce's parents. Joe and Shep bought food for a ni...

Re: The Schools Out album

It’s funny about that B&W band photo in the School’s Out album. For over 3 decades, I was disturbed that you were not in the photo! It was just Glen, Mike, Neal and Alice; no Dennis! Where was Dennis? Why isn’t he in the photo? Was he sick that day? Did they not bother to invite him? Over three dec...
