Re: If You Could Interview Alice...

Im not sure what I would ask him because I’m pretty sure whatever he told me might change when somebody else asked him the same question. He does love to tell a good story.

Love the new album. Playing it right now. Most played album for me since Brutal Planet.

Re: Hypothetical Question-Would You Be Okay With Another Heavy Alice Album

Brutal Planet was my favorite non original group album. Dragon Town sounded like leftovers. I’m not big on giving names to the different styles of rock. Call it heavy metal, hard rock, glam or industrial. I prefer 2 guitars, bass and drums and a serious case of attitude. When Alice does that he is a...

Re: Is Alice’s future outside the US and Canada?

I think that question applies to just about all hard rock bands these days. Seems Europe supports those bands more.

For a time period where he was struggling with addiction issues he seemed remarkably focused and relaxed.

Re: "Road" - Reviews

So the band and Alice were in the studio together. For at least part of the recordings. Sounds like the band members themselves were always in the recording process at the same time.

Re: Road in the charts

I’d much rather see a fresher set with newer material mixed in. Me too. Alice has an incredibly deep catalog of great songs to pull from; it's a shame that he doesn't play more of them. On top of that I think his live versions of songs are often better than the studio recordings. A good performance...

Re: Road in the charts

I’d much rather see a fresher set with newer material mixed in. He and the original group always said music comes first and then they can take it to another level on the stage. I guess that might not be the case as much lately. His live shows now are pretty predictable. Something I thought Alice Coo...

Re: Road in the charts

Looks like it’s not even in the top 200 anymore. Which is really sad since some of the stuff that made the charts are Journey’s Greatest Hits, a Queen release and an Elvis release. WTF ?

Re: Thoughts on Beasto Blanco

I like them a lot. Personally I think their first was the best. They are a very Rob Zombie sounding band. I look forward to anything they put out.

Re: Road in the charts

I have to say I’m rather surprised on how poorly the album showed on the charts. Especially as I posted earlier that on Pandora I heard 4 different cuts from the album when I hit play random hard rock songs. I’ve never heard that from any Alice album in its first week of release. Throw in the fact t...

Re: Road in the charts

Hard pass on all the guest musicians and song writers. That’s been a sore point with me. Like it or hate it Road seems more focused and the band is solid. Solid enough that most can’t distinguish some guest guitarist from a band number. As for the next album I’m pretty sure it’s with the original ba...

Re: Love it to Death Question

Thanks for the reply and a pretty darn quick one at that. So if LITD wasn’t successful you were pretty sure WB would give you another chance ? I don’t think that luxury exists in the record business anymore. And that’s a shame because bands need time to develop. But I’m not sure in the case of rock ...

Love it to Death Question

When you were recording LITD I’m sure you were aware that this album was very different from the previous two albums. Much more focused, better professional production and musically the band were in peak form. Were you expecting it to be a decent selling album ? If it had turned out sales wise like ...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

I got to say that’s why I hate most record reviews. That guy took about 4 very long paragraphs before he even mentioned the album. He thinks it’s sub par, thats fine but it was like reading a high schooler book report where he had to use at least 2,000 words. Short on substance and long on wind.

Re: Road in the charts

I don’t know if this makes a difference or not but when I play Spotify or Pandora and hit a random hard rock play list I have been hearing Big Boots, Dead don’t Dance and Magic Bus. I have never heard a new Alice song played on these lists within the first week of its release before.

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

I am one who digs the album. I personally don’t think the lyrics are all that bad. A exception here and there but I don’t think it deserves the shellacking it gets by some. As for rock music, I buy something for the music over the lyrics. I really don’t care what Judas Priest or Iron Maiden or ACDC ...

Re: DaDa as a Concept Album?

always a difficult album for me. Lyrically it borders on brilliant but musically it falls short. Synthesizers definitely doesn’t help. If he wrote something like that now and with the band he has now, they could have nailed it. Please god no! That would be like putting a bull in a china shop. I lov...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

So I really like this album. I played it 3 times yesterday. Something I haven’t done since the Brutal Planet release. It’s the record I had been hoping he make for a longtime. Straight up guitar driven hard rock. No doubt about it, his band is top notch. There is a cohesiveness musically to it from ...
