Re: My Stars, the beginning of the end
One album personifies the genius of Ezrin. That is Dada. That album shows what could be accomplished when Alice, Wagner and Ezrin got together to make an album free from any commercial pressures. That album is pure art One album personifies the other side of Ezrin. That is Jane's Addiction's Strays...

Re: My Stars, the beginning of the end
George Martin was as vital to the success of The Beatles as any of the band members. It was George Martin who created the classic sound of The Beatles. This was mainly due to his classical music background and incredible arranging skills. Hmmmm..sounds similar to Ezrin. At any rate--all of the song...

Re: My Stars, the beginning of the end
Ry Cooder played slide guitar on The Stone's Sister Morphine even though Mick Taylor played slide on the rest of the album (and was fully capable to play on that song). Actually Mick Taylor was incapable of playing that part as at the time it was recorded (early 1969) he wasn' t in the stones. :) R...

'Ballard of Dwight Fry are melodic keyboard driven that has to be all Bob. ' I believe that the melodic keyboard was all Mike Bruce actually. Who was also responsible for most of the "best in the music business" lyrics to "Blue Turk" I believe. Didn't Glen play the "sublime instrumentals" lead on t...

Buxton & Bruce's Buzz Boxes
I'd be interested to know what pedals Michael and Glen used, particularly the fuzz on looney tune (sounds like a silicon to me but I may be wrong) and the octave divider used throughout Easy Action. On another thread it was mentioned that Ryan Roxie likes to track down the original vintage pedals to...

Very interesting. I'd like to see a comparison with the original vinyl pressings (from the pre cd years of course)

Re: Steve Hunter to get backdated royalties
Unfortunatley, what you say is a sad fact. Most fans who came on board after 1975 really have no idea there was an original band. As far as GB is concerned, he is given credit as playing guitar when in fact he played no guitar at all on that album. Like I said, I understand and agree with why that ...

Re: Dennis Dunaway book reviews
Dennis Dunaway I played my own bass parts on every original Alice Cooper group track except "Living" and "Mary Ann" which had no bass. Bob was a key part in making my bass sound great, including on the Hollywood Vampires version of "School's Out." Does 'living' have no bass? I'll have to listen to ...

Re: Hollywood Vampires - song credits
I like the attention for the album and I will buy the japanese SHM-cd and the vinyl but NO song until now is better then the original. With the songs selected that would be hard to do. What i would have liked is to hear something added or interpreted with a bit of originality. What we have heard so...

Re: Anyone Else Like the Trash Album?
I have a soft spot for Trash. To be fair it was the first album I ever owned and for a few weeks at least the only album I owned. So you can imagine I listened to it a lot and the music is kind of in my blood now. I'd never heard of Alice Cooper and I got Trash for my birthday because I'd heard Pois...

Re: WTMN vs. FTI
You've missed the point. I'm not sure I have. But I may have misunderstood you. Are you suggesting WTMN is technically better? If that is so then that is debatable. Both albums had rather lavish productions with name producers. Both employed perfectly competent musicians and experienced song writer...

Re: WTMN vs. FTI
Are we discussing which is better or which we personally prefer? They're entirely two different things. Sorry. I disagree with this statement. When it comes to opinion music has always been a great divider. Whatever your criteria for what is better musically is still your own opinion. If you judge ...
