Re: Another random voice question
Cool, didn't know that. The one on the DVD is clearly Alice though. And yeah it probably is a money thing, but in a way I think that might be my problem with it - Alice doing his own voice overs just sound kinda cheap IMO. I'm not saying that they have to get a famous actor to do it, why not use Chu...

Re: Another random voice question
Really, which of them was Chuck? They've all sounded like Alice to me (but some artificially deepend) Must admit, I'm not a 100% sure what I'm asking - I just find it silly when the voice is talking to or about Alice in the third person but it's so obvious it's his own voice. Maybe I'm just curious ...

Another random voice question
So I was just thinking, on a lot of the recent tours there has been a recorded voice-over in the show that's clearly done by Alice himself, even though it's not supposed to be Alice talking. For example: The executioner on the Dirty Diamonds tour, the raise the dead voice before the covers section a...

Re: Cop cars, gay bars on your precious street
I find this to be a rather interesting situation, because I definitely could see how in the 80s, Alice was mocking the worldview of the conservatives who were afraid of where the world was heading which has kind of come full circle also. I know that Alice has tried to stay out of the political worl...

Re: Cold Cold Coffin - Dennis Dunaway
Maybe I missed something but what does "A Rock Cinema" actually mean in this context? Is the project just a music video? A short film? A longer film? In the interview DD seems to suggest it will be a short professionally made film/video of the song, with a story following the lyrics. Ah, okay. I've...

It sorta depends, in my opinion, if it's meant to mock concerned parents or is actually meant to be cautionary.

Re: 4 new albums announced
my guess : eventualy we will get the paris dvd, but "they" will wait a few months ... who would by the cd knowing the dvd is available shortly after ? The thing that would be strange about that is that the last two official DVD releases of new shows (Theatre of Death and Raise the Dead: Live from W...

Re: Vampires Tour - going?
There's no song in the Burton/Depp "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" called "I want my now!.
There is however a song in the 70s Gene Wilder "Willy Wonka and the Chocolated Factory" called "I want it now!".

Re: I still think Paranormal is mediocre........
I think the first half has some decent stuff, the second half sounds like it falls apart (Although I really like Private Public Breakdown.) I think a couple of issues here are that Alice doesn't seem to have a real song-writing partner anymore (I know you could argue Bob Ezrin is, but how much is A...

Re: Ryan Roxie: "This is Alice's most cohesive band"
Maybe live is where they excel? Except that everyone in the current band except Nita has already played with Alice in the studio and most of them worked as studio musicians for years before joining Alice. And when it comes to songwriting Chuck, Tommy and Roxie has all proven themselves as very good...

Re: Ryan Roxie: "This is Alice's most cohesive band"
Chuck, Keri Kelli and Damon Johnson did get some co-writes on Along Came a Spider and Chuck co-wrote the bonus track "A Bad Situation" on W2MN, but yeah I agree that it's a shame that the live band doesn't get used in the writing process or even just in the studio more at the moment.

Re: Ryan Roxie: "This is Alice's most cohesive band"
Versatility wise, this is most definitely the most cohesive lineup. Creativity wise, the ACG is head and shoulders above all the rest. To be fair, Roxie said "This is the most cohesive and consistent band that Alice has had touring wise since the original band." so his quote only really counts for ...

Re: Alice As Herod
Thought Alice did a great job but the staging/choreography was a bit stale (only seen Alice's number, haven't seen the rest of the show). The mic drop was beautiful, him adressing the crowd was great and loved when that dangerous scary look in his eyes that is so Alice started to show at just the ri...

Re: Change of set list...aye right!
"I see Alice's point about casual fans" i don't. firstly, where do all these casual fans come from? doesn't seem to me that it's like the 70's where everyone had heard about the showand a big percentage would want to see what the fuss was about. i can't see Alice getting tons of airplay these days ...

Re: Dennis Dunaway Book
On "A Fistful of Alice" Alice says he wrote "Desperado" for Jim Morrison, but Dennis wrote it. Except that Alice and Michael Bruce has the writing credit for it on the actual album. Wasn't Dennis's lyrics the "Tornado Warning" version that is on the "Old School" box-set? Yes, but Dennis writes: "My...

Re: Mystery ? Three Alice Coopergroup songs on the bonusdisc
I think the confusion stemmed from "Rats" being performed by the original band but not written by any of them (except Alice himself)- therefore it's a bit unclear if it should count as a song by the original band or not? But who knows, maybe there was a MB song they considered including until rather...
