Re: Alice Songs You Like More Than Most Other Fans Do

You’re My Temptation I like that one too. It's my favorite track on the album. "Deeper" is a track that gets a lot of hate. It isn't a personal favorite, but it isn't bad imo. "Ubangi Stomp" seems to be universally reviled, and while I don't think it's good there are a lot of other Alice songs that...

Re: Rank All of Alice's Studio Albums Based on Your Preference

Are you guys taking bonus tracks into your calculations? Two of the best tracks on Along Came a Spider are bonus tracks. Trash has a great version of I Got a Line on You. W2MN had a couple of ok bonus tracks too. I took all the non-live tracks into consideration.

Re: Rank All of Alice's Studio Albums Based on Your Preference

I posted my rankings at the top of the page. I'd probably make some changes to the order today, but I'd also probably have to change it again in a few months. In general, I'd still keep them in the categories that I broke them down into above if not the exact order. Road , I'm afraid. would probably...

Re: Hollywood Vampires "Live in Rio" 2023 release

This sounds so much better than the video that's been on Youtube for years. Bob Ezrin has done a great job with both this and Road. Favorite tracks: I'm a Boy, I Got a Line on You, Train Kept A-Rollin' and My Generation. I'm not really a fan of the Vampires (even though I like everyone involved in t...

Re: Alice Cooper Comic Coming in Oct

Completely useless info: there is an Alice reference in a 70s Fantastic Four comic. The Thing says something about "being bigger than Alice Cooper." It was a Roy Thomas or Gerry Conway penned issue, I think.

About the Hellfest 2022 live DVD
Did they include the snippet of "Another Brick in the Wall" during School's Out? They excised that on the Paris concert dvd.

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

iirc, the cymbals on YDMN were recorded out of phase (on purpose) and Neal wanted the whole album to be recorded that way. Ezrin and Christianson did not agree but allowed the one track. It's an unusual sound and they definitely made the right choice to limit that effect to 1 short song Interesting...

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

Oh, gosh I'm not musician, Dannorama, so it's really hard for me to say. It's extremely prominent to me throughout. It may be two different things I'm taking about. The cymbals seem way too high in the mix all the way through and there seems to be an effect added during the chorus. The chorus part m...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

I generally don't really care that much about lyrics, it's the music that counts . That may sound odd, but as much as I love Alice's *voice* most of the time I don't really care what the actual words are, unless they are really appalling or particularly good, that is. My dad is the same way. He's b...

Magic Bus, I wasn't familiar with the original so I enjoyed it. What?! It's a classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3oCB9RdiB4&ab_channel=TheWho-Topic As I said previously, Alice's version is growing on me. I still struggle with the choice of using a drum solo at the end though. If he he ever d...

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

A few thoughts: The live stuff is very nice. Of the two shows I think I prefer the Mar Y Sol Pop Festival. It's astonishing that it's taken 50 for these concerts to be released. Why in the world would the studio not release a live ACG album during their peak years? Alice should never have stopped us...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

The production is rich and strong I think the album has a great sound, too. It really is a shame that my favorite bands of yesteryear didn't have access to today's recording technology. I also agree with you about it being nice that the band gets to be in the spotlight a bit; these guys have paid t...

Re: Vampyre Cosmetics

I wasn't aware of any kind of controversy since I'm not very active on social media. I went to Blabbermouth and they had a transcript of his interview. I have to say that I agree with Alice 100%. He wasn't a raving loon like Ted Nugent by any stretch. He seems sit squarely into the Dee Snider camp. ...

Nice review wind_up_toy. I agree with a lot of what you say.

One thing: I have to admit to actually liking "The Song That Didn’t Rhyme." The punchline saves it for me.

It reminded me of "I Never Wrote Those Songs."

"Dead Don't Dance" reminds me of Metallica's "2 x4" a bit.

Magic Bus is growing on me.

Re: "Road" - Reviews

I've listened to it. I don't care for it very much. I'm sure some folks here will love it, but it's a big disappointment for me. The biggest issue for me is the lyrics. They are the weakest of any Alice album, imo. The quality ranges from generic to pure cringe. There's none of the classic wit and s...

I think you could probably arrange "Scarlet and Sheba" in a way that would sound really good with the current band.

Nita Strauss: The Call of the Void

https://i.imgur.com/t9VajLZ.jpg Anybody else listening to this? I think it's a big step up from her last album. Metal guitarist solo instrumental albums usually bore the shit out of me after the first few minutes, but this one is a good listen. There are two versions of some tracks; one instrumenta...
