Alice Cooper "Easter Eggs"... new songs referencing old songs

Listening to "Social Debris", it seems there are 2 direct references to past songs built in... the opening bass pointing to "Elected", and the guitars later on being very close to "Man of the Year" more than once. I realize that these self-references ("easter eggs") have shown up many times in Alice...

Re: Detroit Stories first song "Rock 'N' Roll" to be available Fri 11-13-20

It's a cover song, right? Am I the only one who's totally disappointed to see so many covers again? Even the first single apparently! I definitely remember how he promised all new songs for this album. And now we already see at least 5 cover songs on this, maybe more :(

Re: New album

Neal Smith just said in a new interview:

"Even with the recent album – we just recorded …There’s a song called 'Social Debris'."

He also confirms what we already knew:

"Before Christmas 2019 we got together in a studio, jammed and recorded some tracks for his upcoming album."

Re: Breadcrumbs

On a side note given the name of the EP is "Breadcrumbs". I assume Alice is throwing us some breadcrumbs of what is to come. A very nice sounding album production wise that finally lives up to the sound he said TEOAC was meant to be. I think the most in your face sounding album since BP ( I certain...

Re: Teleprompter

If I recall correctly someone from the original band mentioned he recently forgot/jumbled the School's Out lyrics during a performance. It's a miracle this doesn't happen more often, with all the covers to learn too, and original HV pieces. The verses of We Gotta Rise alone are really hard to get ri...

If anyone can catch the first name Alice says in 'Go Man Go' (the line before "Crazy Anne") let me know. I can't make it out.
Can't tell either about the prior line Si, but it's Crazy 'Jane', not Crazy 'Anne'.

Re: Breadcrumbs

Sure hope he gets the endless covers thing out of his system soon, but these 5 recordings are nice. Paid special attention to the new original song (Go Man Go), since it gives an update on how the next album could look. He likes to write lyrics including themes from Steal That Car / Baby Can't Drive...

Breadcrumbs

What are thoughts on the Breadcrumbs record so far? A few songs could be heard before release date already.

Teleprompter

Interesting, on one of the recent live videos it is visible that Alice now has a teleprompter that feeds him the lyrics line by line. Is that new? I can't blame him, but I have never noticed this before. It's a sizable monitor on the ground before him.

Conspiracy, First welcome to the board. I agree with what you have said concerning Alice fans. I don't want to get into an original band vs solo Alice debate but I agree it does often revolve around what age you are. I like all eras of Alice personally with my favorite overall period from 1986-2000...

This is my first post on this board! Since 2005, I have annually rated every Alice Cooper song from 1-10. I reviewed the annual score variations to see how the music ages on me. Here are the results of favorite albums (simply established by average score of all songs on the album), each with the be...
