Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper
Although Alice has repeatedly said his career has been blessed, I think he has long harboured a wish for a Vegas type residency where a bit more money could have been lavished on staging. Frustrating (for me at least) that a number of others have had that opportunity

Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper
I don't believe he's been marketed well. The trick is to try to be objective about it, which is difficult for me as a huge fan since 1972. Maybe he really isn't in the same class as David Bowie...but I'll never believe it! I'm surprised how few performance videos, other than live clips, have ever be...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
Shep, Alice and Ezrin finance everything from the tours to the albums. They invest where they will get the best return which is the live shows. You can produce an album for next to nothing these days. I'd bet most if the recording for this album and likely the last few was done remotely with Erin c...

Re: Road in the charts
I think the earlier point about Alice seeing the show and not the records as his legacy is a good one. Selfishly I've always wanted him to spend more time and energy on new music than his constant touring. We can all enjoy new music but only a fraction get to hear him on his umpteenth visit to where...

Re: I'm Alice
Do early YouTube views give any indication of whether the new album will do well? I think that Paranoiac Personality and Social Debris racked up a lot more views in their first week than I'm Alice has (240K). There's plenty of Alice news out there at present when you include the Vampires, so wider i...

Re: I'm Alice
On first hearing Zorro's Ascent (drums) and You're A Movie (latter spoken section) sprung to mind. But I think this is a much better song than either of those! I guess this will be the first ever Alice album with no keyboards

Re: Man w. the Golden Gun - Top 5 Bond Theme Song?
Andy Michael said on this board some years ago that Alice and John Barry met in London in the 70s. I'm a huge fan of both and if anyone knows any more about that meet or have a photo then please share. I've met Alice a number of times and always forgot to ask. Feel a right idiot- assuming of course ...

I mentioned the 500 views because the next offering on the same site was obscure Van Halen tracks (part 2) with over 47,000 views

Re: 4th street and more
Years since I heard 4th Street. Sounds good to me. Rather disappointing that it's been on YouTube for months and has garnered about 500 views. Might help us understand why there's little appetite for releasing "rare" material

Taylor Hawkins
Anyone else surprised that Alice isn't part of the Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts? Looking at the list of performers he seems like a stand-out omission. He can't appear at the LA show because he's got his own show that night.

Garage rock or orchestrated epics?
Hi Dennis Many thanks for engaging with us like this. Really appreciated. Alice has been talking recently about garage rock influences, but has also talked about the influences of film composers such as John Barry & Henry Mancini. If the OGs had stayed together which influences would you have wanted ...

Overdue a biopic?
Story on the BBC today that Danny Boyle is to direct a high profile TV drama series about the Sex Pistols. Story goes on to point out that “the film and TV industry is snapping up the rights to all sorts of musicians’ life stories” and continues with a list that includes Shep’s client the late Teddy...

Re: Live at Glasgow '82 - 2lp RSD 20202
My memories of that night aged 19. Travelled from the north of Scotland with a mate and joined a queue hours before the doors opened. Not sure why as it was all seated! At one point some side doors were opened and we could hear live music from the venue. Asked the roadies who’d opened the doors whet...

Ticketmaster promoting Leeds date. Presale supposedly started yesterday but I can't access it. That may be just as well as Andre Rieu is also advertised as playing there the same night!!

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour
Although I’ve seen dozens of Alice shows since 1982, the first at the Glasgow Apollo, the In The Flesh show in '88 and most recent in Aberdeen would take some beating. Got quite emotional hearing My Stars live for the first time, having listened to it so many times as a ten year old back in ’72. One...

Re: COULD BOND HAVE SAVED ALICE COOPER?
John Barry, who scored eleven Bond's, was unavailable for Live and Let Die which preceded TMWTGG. He had a big say in who sang his Bond songs and is unlikely to have ok'd Alice (unfortunately). It was being pressured to work with Duran Duran and particularly A-Ha in the 80's which led him to walk aw...

Re: Old Grey Whistle Test Interview
I remember a very old black and white cartoon (and another Bob Harris interview) accompanying it Paul.I haven't watched it in a while, but there might be a clip of the interview on Super Duper?I think it aired before From The Inside was released in the UK. The step up in quality after Lace & Whiskey...

Pollstar have published the Top 100 Worldwide Tours for 2017: https://www.pollstar.com/Chart/2018/01/2017YearEndTop100WorldwideTours_621.pdf Once again no sign of Alice. I don't expect him to be near the top, but given that he did over 100 shows shouldn't we expect to see him at least in the lower r...

I'm guessing he's not well known outside the UK, but couldn't help chuckle at this comparison from The Scotsman review of the Glasgow gig: http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/culture/music/music-review-alice-cooper-sse-hydro-glasgow-1-4613412 "Cooper has been peddling the same shtick for decades, but ...

He certainly didn't look like a guy approaching 70 who'd not long got off a plane from New Zealand. Great song choice and performance for Halloween
