Re: Final Hammersmith 2024 filmed

What's wrong with Hammersmith? I've seen tons of pretty good live shows filmed there, including Alice's "Theater Of Death".

Desmond talked about going in another direction for "Trash 2"; industrial hard rock/heavy metal. Well.. Brutal Planet, anyone?

Re: Were There Any Alice Songs You Were Surprised Didn't Become Hits?

Freedom actually still remains somewhat of a cult anti PMRC anthem in the metal underground.

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

He also said he wrote “Cold Cold Coffin” for Alice, but Ezrin told him “Alice doesn’t do horror anymore” ????????????🤔 This part worries me more than anything. Given the content of his last 3 albums, I'm inclined to believe Ezrin really did say that. As someone who's been longing for the return of ...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

At least Raise Your Fist was cheesy because it was a cheesy 80s hair metal album. Constrictor and Trash are hair metal. RYFAY is heavy metal, and is the furthest thing from pop-rock aka hair metal. Thye Nightmare Returns and Live In The Flesh were also heavy metal, no-one in their right mind would ...

Re: Modification

Well, it's at least mentioned in the album's Swedish wikipedia site: "Hey Stoopid utkom 1991 och är ett musikalbum av Alice Cooper. Albumet är den sista i Coopers Heavy Metal-veva (1986-1991) och innehåller klassikerna "Feed My Frankenstein", "Hey Stoopid" och "Love's A Loaded Gun". Titellåten och a...

Re: Modification

Yeah. My guess is that this was never even mentioned outside of Scandinavia.
I'll go check my attic, as I still keep these old mags, and see if I can find the right issue with the exact quote 😉

I noticed there's a somewhat vital piece of information missing regarding 'Hey Stoopid'. I looked everywhere, but couldn't find it. In Scandinavia at the time, 80's - 90's, there was this bi-weekly Swedish rock/pop magazine named Okej who had an employee, Anders Tegner, who was a total metalhead and...

Re: The evolution of rock shows

Greetings, Dennis. 'Follow-up question: What did you guys do about different tunings for certain songs on stage? I couldn't help but notice that the ending of "Killer" suddenly goes to drop-D mid-song, and other things like this? In the studio, back then, we always tuned up to pitch (A-440) unless ...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

I honestly think "Trash" is his worst cover ever. Let's just face it, it's a clear cut rip-off of Michael Jackson's "Bad cover", right down to the logo/title. That cover was of course in turn parodied by Weird Al Yankovic on his "Even Worse" album, prior to "Trash". There seems to be a joke in there...

Re: The Beginning of the Comeback of Alice Cooper (1986)

As someone who became an instant fan due to Mtv's "live" broadcast of the comeback show, I could clearly see how calculated this course of action was. Shock rock (I hate that term, it was metal..) with splatter theatrics were a big thing back then, and the time was ripe for an Alice comeback. We had...

Re: The 'Secret' Next Album

A tour with the OG's? Sure, I'd be all for it, bet let's be realistic here. Two things at the very least; You can't do that and say "no theatrics" because that simply doesn't fly. They don't have to take part in them, as in the old days, because Alice has a road crew who could easily play those part...

Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper

I'm surprised how few performance videos, other than live clips, have ever been made given his very visual/ theatrical style. Nothing from School's Out or earlier.. ABC In Concert 1972, the Killer live DVD on Super Duper Alice Cooper says hello. But yes, it's a travesty. You'd think with such a the...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Alice is best with two guitarists. Namely two leads. The Nightmare Returns band was phenomenal for so many reasons but I think it was a missed opportunity not to use Artie Funaro (devlin 7/Jonny Dime) as a second lead. The guy is an incredible talent and I could only imagine what a guitar duo he an...

why he ditched horror for comedy. He was born again (or whatever the term is) when he did TLT and that is an absolute beast and his for the most part a very dark horrific album. It cant be religion why he ditched it. Id be interested to know. Of course not. Prince Of Darkness is a highly religious ...

As someone who became a fan thanks to The Nightmare returns, I say of course would like that.
Have Kane plus Nita and throw Ezrin to the curb.
