Re: Re-evaluating Alice

The only thing that has made me ever re-evaluate Alice is how, sometimes, he tends to put down his own career, saying it's all humour, all a joke whilst he's got some pretty serious recording with important messages which he still plays live. Besides that, everything is part of the evolution of an ...

Re: Songs to play

Well, I must say, all of You do the songs justice  ! Forgot to ask this the other day  , while listening to BDS LIVE IN PARIS, we were getting into "The Jokes On You", but having played SECRET TREATIES beforehand, noticed that line is in "Flaming Telepaths". Was it supposed to be an "I...

I'm ancient. Re: Re-evaluating Alice

Artists get old mellow out and wise up. That's life. What often takes place is that their audience does the same and most people are happy. Maybe we're afraid of getting old. "I Listen To Dead People"! :8): * So glad AC (& others) are still here Rockin'!  ("The Sixth Sense" reference)*

Re: Label spanning Greatest Hits

In an era when anyone can create their own compilation what would be the point? These days these things are almost always just a cash in from a record company. No fan needs them, and even if there was a new one it would be heavily slanted to the same old songs. Sometimes, new fans are introduced to...

The band Avatar has probably been mentioned, but come on. This is blatant.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but, when they
channel early Metallica & also Disturbed... plus Manson, Zombie etc.
They should find their own sound (& make-up)! :nono:

Rhino Records are now a subsidiary of WB.
They were acquired by WB because they did it right!

Re: Alice on Metallica

Why i do feel it is overrated , it is a seminal work which blew the doors open for a metal band like metallica. I liked it more in my youth and less so as i got older/heard it more and more but it still stands up as a good album, people are covering the songs because it managed to reach all corners...

Re: The Paul Stanley situation

If these guys had any integrity (or any talent), it would have been known for decades. These plexiglass meet and greets are far beyond ridiculous and laughable. Let them fans spend their money, they don't know better anyway. For years now it's been the "Paul & Gene" show! They use the name &...

Re: Man With The Golden Gun

Greetings. When Man With The Golden Gun wasn't chosen as the James Bond theme, what were the thoughts of yourself and the rest of the group? Thanks. Even though we had our hopes up for it to happen, we knew that James Bond Themes were traditionally by UK artists. They didn't choose Lulu's song over...

Re: Dali Hologram

Was, last time I was there , mind you, that was about 8-10 years ago As I understand it the 'original' is in the Dali museum in Figueras, Spain, while the one in St Petersburg is actually a copy/replica - and while it's always there it isn't always on display, as they rotate their exhibits periodic...

Re: Cold Cold Coffin

It would be nice for another update. It's way more then over three years now since I pledged. I understand the problems of the shortage on vinylplants but this is getting ridiculous. My friend has a recordstore and put together vinyls for local bands and he gets all his records out within max. a ye...

Re: Breaking The Band ?

Any USA based people seen this yet? I assume you have not been made aware that Alice Cooper Inc (and all connecting people, organizations and true fans) have been told to ignore this program and pretend it doesn't exist. PS: I risked lifelong censure and watched it. Pretty much a jumbled bunch of n...

Re: More General questions

Hello Dr. D, 5. After decades of writing songs with Alice in mind, I've simply continued to feel comfortable in handing off the lead vocal task to someone else. Once when Ian Hunter was hanging out at a Bouchard, Dunaway, Smith rehearsal, I sang a new song then handed the lyrics to Joe. Ian grabbed ...

This is the guitar arrangement of "Titanic Overture" by Nick Didkovsky.
I had heard this before I met Nick. We've done lots of music together since then.

Re: Old Article I Hadn't Seen Before

Once a band knows your keeping track of them they are more likely to give you some of the info you seek. If they think you're just gushing about them they have a tendency to hold back. I had a brief conversation w/Paul Weller & Bruce Foxton of The Jam but, sat with another Fan backstage & had an int...

"Alexander was dismissed in August 1970" -Wiki
After The Goose Lake Show. Read it in the liner notes.
Just didn't have the date at hand when I asked the question.
Replaced by a Roadie at the time, did you see/hear the set?

Even though it didn't happen. What a Bill!
I hope The Stooges were on the top of their game.
Or, had Iggy just fired Dave Alexander?
