Re: Another "Blue Turk" observay-SHONE

Likely be a bit rough to renegotiate that 50 years after the fact, but I'm glad you like the bass part. Hi Dr D, I'm very fond of the bass part that opens "BT" and even more so for the descending portion towards the end of the song. How flexible Your fingers must be  ! Those parts would be go...

Re: Muscle of love expanded

Absolutely love the peeled back versions, almost like having a new OG’s album. Brilliant notes from all concerned too. Always said this was a much underrated album. Loved it when released back in the 70’s, love it even more now 10/10 for this reissue Agree 100%-I got MOL 48 years ago and have loved...

Re: Muscle of love expanded

I got this in the mail yesterday...A big Thank You to my Daughter, who nows what Her Old Man likes. I really like the packaging and had to look for a second before opening. The original disc sounds as good as it always did, but as other posters have indicated, the second disc is FANTASTIC and worth ...

I enjoy PLATINUM GOD, but with You, Mike Bruce, Mike Marconi , Mick Mashbir and "Rockin''" Reggie helping out, Neal's solo album is almost a group album.

I think the following could have been hits given the right push...

Clones
Lost in America
Stolen Prayer
Is Anyone Home?
Cold Machines
Novocaine
Clones did actually very briefly chart.
"Clones (We're All)" got to #40 for one week on Billboard Charts.

So many good things on LITD and I certainly understand 18 being in the right place at the right time and catching the mood of a generation and country, but Caught in a Dream should have gone top 20.
I agree about CIAD.

Wow!.....That was interesting :bam: . I remember using a tape recorder for Alice's performances when this aired, but don't recall this portion at all.

Re: Hotel Room/Property damage

Probably another reason is because You saved Your energies for the show and didn't have the desire to engage in destruction. It used to puzzle Me how performers had the stamina for that, particularly Keith Moon (with his frantic style) and John Bonham (Three hour plus sets with a long drum solo inv...

Re: Hotel Room/Property damage

Yes, there was a night where a vending machine swallowed Neal's quarter and refused to fork over a can of soda and wound up at the bottom of some stairs (when the police knocked on the door of Neal's room, he answered with a Gideon Bible in his hand). Then there was the time the roadies celebrated ...

Re: BSB 50th anniversary 2cd / 3 lp out in March

I've got two vinyl copies of Billion Dollar Babies , but none of the more recent reissues. And I've got the deluxe CD. Still might go for this. Will need to think it over. So far, I'm feeling the same way. I have bought BDB five times over the years ; Vinyl in 1975 and 1979. Cassette in the late 80...

Re: Saxon -From The Inside

I seldom listen to Saxon so probably not a good judge of what they do nowadays. What I liked was the unusual choice and the fact that it is similar to the original but much more a rocker now. Very true...kind of an obscure tune to cover and most bands would have gone with the usual suspects which h...

Re: The Beginning of the Comeback of Alice Cooper (1986)

I certainly was looking forward to this period. I liked CONSTRICTOR well enough; nothing classic, but nothing horrid either. It was nice to see so much press on him around this time; RIP did a nice job, METAL EDGE seemed to have articles on him every issue and a great article in CREEM in early 1987 ...

I was on vacation last week and read it and must say...VERY impressed. I also would have liked to have a part that details something ...

Re: The Marketing of Alice Cooper

I don't believe he's been marketed well. The trick is to try to be objective about it, which is difficult for me as a huge fan since 1972. Maybe he really isn't in the same class as David Bowie...but I'll never believe it! I'm surprised how few performance videos, other than live clips, have ever b...
