Re: Don't Blow Your Mind: The Mascot Sessions

Hi Dennis I’m guessing this was before Michael joined the group, so you had Don’t Blow Your Mind already? In his book, Dennis states that Alice and him wrote DBYM following MB's encouragement for the Group to start writing their own songs. I'm interested about Michael recording his own original son...

I showed your post to Tish and Snooky.

Snooky said "So funny!"
Tish said, "Omg! I laughed so hard that I almost Keeched my breeks when I read this!"

Re: Tish & Snooky

I'll pass your message on to Tish and Snooky. Cindy and I met them at a Chiller Theatre Expo monster/scifi event. Their table was across from ours. We looked at them and they looked at us and we all felt like Kindred Spirits from the get go. Then I found myself performing on stage with them several ...

Re: Under my wheels encore 1973

Thanks for the reply. Wow I really thought you were going to say it was in fact staged. I saw the officer right in front of Alice so he must have felt a bit more confident with that interaction. I did also take note that one of you guys were egging him on a bit, at least you hear some kind of comme...

Re: Don't Blow Your Mind: The Mascot Sessions

Jack Curtis had booked two hours of session time. The songs didn't make radio playlists, but they were so heavily used in the VIP Lounge radio ads that they seemed like hits in Arizona. In that respect, they were heard more often that most groups that were on the radio playlist. I only recall record...

Re: New Theatrics

Dennis: One of my favorite moments of any concert was when you appeared with Blue Coupe at Cleveland's Beachland Ballroom in the summer of 2015 and started Black Juju offstage, concealed behind a theater curtain at stage left. Instead of walking on conventionally, you began to slowly push your way ...

Re: Good to see you again,AC

Overall, we were high school kids that set out to make an artistic statement, and Hell over high water, we achieved our dream. Sure, I wish we would have done more but we did achieve our goals. Your ongoing interest is proof of that.

Re: New Theatrics

It's fairly common for musicians who are watching other musicians perform, to think to themselves that they could play that music better. Well, I'm the guy that's always thinking I could do the theatrics better. Of course things evolve from tour to tour. Things evolved at a rapid pace for Alice Coop...

Re: Good to see you again,AC

I’m so glad I got to see the B$B’s at The Fore N Aft show in 2019….and after hearing a complete live concert from “77” on the “complete B$B’s Battle Axe cd” I really wish that tour hadn’t been cut short, amazing stuff. A side note on the 2019 Danbury concert. As me and the missus were driving back ...

Re: Double Albums

I don't think our Warner Bros. contract allowed a double album. At the frequency of albums owed to them, we never had enough songs anyway. Plus, you could make a splash with one double album but two single albums equaled two splashes.

Is there a law that says you, Mike and Neal couldn’t go out and perform as The Alice Cooper GROUP ?
I'm pretty sure we would have some legal challenges. Also, that would be misleading to fans. Whenever the 3 of us do anything, we use Billion Dollar Babies.

Re: Good to see you again,AC

At that time, erasing the original band members was intended to establish the band's name as a solo artist, and in my opinion, likely intended to help prove so in court cases that never came. We had spent a small fortune on a lawyer, then I decided to drop it because the band had started as friends...

I have to ask why was Michael Bruce airbrushed from the cover?
I was told that they wanted the cover to have a cleaner look.
Is there a photo available w/Michael on stage also?
I have a digital copy of the photo but I'm not sure how to post it here.

Re: Good to see you again,AC

The schtick comedy bits were added for running time in order to attain feature length status, however, at that time, rock films weren't chalking up big numbers at the box office, so it was decided to do it as cheaply as possible. Joe Gannon was in charge and it seemed like every question we had was ...

Re: Good to see you again,AC

Regarding “The Lady is a Tramp” did you guys actually perform the song or was it just a backing track that Alice sang over? The band was kept in the dark about the plot, perhaps because we had spent nearly a decade brainstorming our own ideas for our movie, which would have also included humor, but...

Getting on board on the B$B questions… At the time you recorded those amazing songs, did any of you thought that after 50 years you would still be honoring this album and young people would still be discovering it and you would be getting new generations of fans? At the time, my thoughts were alway...
