Re: Alice band members past and present best albums
Most of my favourite albums have already been mentioned. Ryan Roxie has put out some great stuff - Two Sides to Every Story, The Ameriswede EP, and Imagine Your Reality. I also love Orianthi's Rock Candy. O is quite good as well. Also, Addicted to Love is an insanely catchy song (from the Believe re...

Re: UK Dates 2024
Great news, I’ve been hoping for some dates to look forward to. Does anyone remember how much the front row / 2-5 row meet’n’greet tix went for last time round? Looking at the ticket options, they are all seated gigs. Quite unfortunate but there is some sort of luxury of not having to stand in a qu...

Re: The Lace and Whiskey Era
One of my least favourite albums, but still, there's something about it that always draws me in. That early solo era, with the Cooper / Ezrin / Wagner writing team, Wagner / Hunter guitar team, Ezrin producing... I can't put my finger on it, but even when it's bad, I keep coming back. The first half...

Re: What is 1 Original Band Song and 1 Solo Song You Would Like Added
I think Caught in a Dream would be my vote for group song also. Hard Hearted Alice would run it close, but the guitar work in CIAD is too good to pass up.
Solo wise, it'd be Six Hours.

Re: Favourite opening line
I'd have to have a think, but for some reason the below always comes to mind first when I see this sort of topic
"You look like you'd fit in the trunk of my car" (The One That Got Away)
Not a great album lyrically, but always found this mildly amusing.

Re: More stats anyone?
I haven't used the platform in a while, but back when I did, iTunes was used to buy songs and play local files. Is this still the case, or has it been integrated into other Apple platforms? I notice there's a different list of stats for Apple, which I assumed was for their streaming platform (Apple ...

Looks like iTunes users in Peru had a sudden burst of great taste on May 28. Good stuff.

Re: Best and Weakest releases by decade
70s Best - School's Out The four album run starting with Love It to Death was phenomenal of course. School's Out is my favourite - a very diverse yet cohesive album. Worst - Easy Action It was between this and Lace and Whiskey. Lace has some duds, but also some great songs such as It's Hot Tonight,...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation
Big fan of Ryan Roxie. Love his playing style, his writing, his on stage demeanour etc. On a related note, the band on Brutally Live was fantastic. Roxie and Pete Friesen were a great guitar duo, Greg Smith and Eric Singer a tight rhythm section, and Teddy Zig Zag adding depth and nuance on the keys...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation
Yes, I'm a fan of Orianthi. She's a great player, and her last few albums have been pretty good (especially the one last year). I would've liked to have seen what she could have brought to the table writing wise. I sometimes think, had they pushed What Baby Wants when W2MN was released, whether they...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I'm guessing she's good for one or two more legs of touring and she'll once again leave. She should...she's on the verge of being huge! What's your definition of huge? She does have some sort of profile of course, playing with Alice, Demi, and doing events with WWE and American sports teams (sorry,...

Re: If You Could Interview Alice...
One thing I'd ask about is The Night Shift - how far they got writing wise (think I once read it was 10 demos?), if he'd ever revisit the concept, what the twist in the story was if not, if any of the music was repurposed elsewhere.

Re: Hypothetical Question-Would You Be Okay With Another Heavy Alice Album
I'd be more than happy with a heavy album. Not one like Nita's though. I don't think that's a particularly good album. The solos and melodies are good but the songs fall flat.

Re: Road in the charts
UK charts for the second week
#5 - rock albums
#6 - independent albums
#12 - album sales
#12 - physical album sales
#15 - Scottish albums chart
#61 - album downloads
Fallen out of the top 100 of the official chart. Coming up short on the streaming side, as we all know.

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I like Dead Don't Dance - I agree with whoever mentioned the riff sounding quite similar to Metallica's 2x4, although the pinch harmonics in the chorus also remind me a bit of Black Label Society. However, the transition from second chorus to the guitar solo doesn't work for me - the shredding sound...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I've given it 5-6 listens. I'm enjoying it - a fairly good rock album that's fun to listen to. There's definitely some naff lyrics, but they weren't as bad as I was expecting given some of the comments here. Baby Please Don't Go is my favourite track so far - I find Alice rarely goes wrong with the ...
