Re: Fall 2021 Tour Setlist

Ryan Roxie addressed that in his tour kick-off podcast yesterday. No backing tracks. Everyone sings, including Sheryl off-stage. Back in 2010 when Alice had laryngitis, he sounded awful in interviews, but still managed to do a show every night. It was real: his vocals sounded rougher, but still gre...

Re: Label spanning Greatest Hits

In an era when anyone can create their own compilation what would be the point? These days these things are almost always just a cash in from a record company. No fan needs them, and even if there was a new one it would be heavily slanted to the same old songs. Sometimes, new fans are introduced to...

Label spanning Greatest Hits

It's been a lifetime since "Mascara and Monsters," the last official label spanning Greatest Hits package. Sure, there are collections all over the place, but it usually means a single label creating a product with only their stuff. Just check out this site's Compilations page for more. There are e...

The band Avatar has probably been mentioned, but come on. This is blatant.

Re: The Paul Stanley situation

Good post, RemarkablyInsincere. I agree that it would be irresponsible to spit picks with current knowledge, but HERE is Love Gun from Toledo, the night before Paul's positive diagnosis. At about 2:16, they are at the same spot in the song that the first video showed. However, in Toledo, Paul flick...

Re: The Paul Stanley situation

I think it's pretty obvious that keeping a tour on the road in this current environment is pretty much impossible. They can push forward and try, but if KISS who is touring with no opening band couldn't keep the tour covid free for even 5 shows, what chance does a tour with two bands / crews have? ...

The Paul Stanley situation

With Paul Stanley testing positive for COVID , my bet is that the Ace/Alice tour will be postponed. Let's hope it's just a postponement. School has just started here in the states, and kids are back in the buildings for the first time in over a year. The professionals are predicting an increase in ...

Re: Gifts from your fans

I must say that that SO desk bass is a thing of beauty! What a great idea. Even tough you and I have never met, it's still a joy to converse with you, Dennis. I have known about you for close to 50 years. (You guys have helped keep me young!) I think that the "School's Out" album is your best recor...

Gifts from your fans

Just watched you on Indie Power's You Tube channel , and it made me wonder - do you remember your first tangible gift from a fan? Can you describe some of the more memorable things that you've been given? Remember! I'll bring you a homemade pie (for eating, not throwing) if you jump onstage in Char...

Re: Writing BDB, the song

Dang! Too late to edit that last post. Please replace the word "simple" with "spontaneous." My simple mind spontaneously came up with the word "simple." "SPONTANEOUS" is the word I should have used. (I don't think that anything you create is simple.)

Writing BDB, the song

Hi again, Dennis. One of my favorite stories is how you came up with the original idea for the song "Billion Dollar Babies." As I recall, you were all hanging out, trying to figure out some new material, and you said, "we ought to do something like this," and blasted out a few bars. Was it that sim...

Re: The quad mixes

Good to know your perspective. Music presented in surround sound is indeed exciting. I often get absorbed by the DVD-Audio version of BDB in 5.1. In that case, I wish that they'd mixed the album edits in 5.1. Instead, they mixed the unedited versions of a few songs. The elongated "Mary Ann" is cool...

The quad mixes

For the most part, the quadrophonic mixes of BDB and MOL are pretty much the same as the regular albums. There are subtleties, though. Notably, at the end of "Generation Landslide," it sounds like Neal's toms and bass drums randomly "fire-off," creating a pretty cool skyrocket effect. Soon after th...

Re: hot sauce and colouring books

I'm frustrated at the lack of desires mentioned. What are you looking for? In the past 12 months alone, we've had: 1. A great new album, featuring the original band. 2. An upcoming tour of the States, with dates already announced in Europe for next year. 3. A bunch of new merchandise . 4. Fresh app...

Re: The Baz story

Thanks for your well written tribute to your dear friend. I'm not sure if I've ever met Baz but his name sounds familiar. It's humbling to hear how our music brings people together. It's the magic of music. The songs created by musicians connects them, and it also connects all of the people that re...

The Baz story

Hi Dennis. I thought that I'd tell you a story about friendship. (Cue the violins.) I joined this forum in late 2004, so that I could share my love of everything Alice. This "thing" that you helped create has been a constant companion to me for all of my life, and I had finally found the right plac...
