Re: Pure Glen Buxton

I think it could be both Glen and Michael Bruce playing the opening to Halo of Flies. Michael stated in his book that he himself played the wah-wah in the same song. GB played the guitar solo in Ballad of Dwight Fry and the guitar during the long jazz instrumental break in Blue Turk but he apparentl...

Incredible song. It never gets old.
True. It's also my favourite PFY track.

Re: Mike's Van & The Floating ACG

What was so funny in Dennis’s book is what happened after the roll over. Neal who recently joined the band and recovered from being shot in the ankle by Alice was walking through the debris looking for his other boot when Glen says to him “So how do you like being in the band So far?” I actually bu...

Re: Mike's Van & The Floating ACG

I've read 'Me, Alice' and if I recall correctly, the 'out of body experience(s)' are mentioned in there. I have Dennis' book which goes into a fair bit of detail about the crash and the immediate aftermath, in which Dennis agrees to sell his car so that the Group can buy another van. Yet another ex...

How about this line from the same song:

Landscape's alive and it's moving my feet, all I need is a holocaust to make my day complete.

Re: The Worst Alice lyric

I had a friend who decided he didn't like Alice Cooper because of the "We can't even think of a word that rhymes" line in School's Out! Probably one of my favourite lyrics from Alice, but my friend claimed if proved that Alice was a lazy lyricist! :rotfl: Dennis wrote in his book that he actually c...

Re: Not a question.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Dennis for all of the time and effort he has invested so far in answering all of the questions posed to him in this Forum. His replies have been - not surprisingly - very informative and well-crafted, not to mention unflinchingly honest and to the point. I ...

Thanks for the link. It's always great to hear alternative takes or parts of songs that didn't make it onto an album.

Re: Battle Axe

Btw, I think re-recording the BA album w/Alice on vocals could potentially be the pinnacle of Alice's (and the ACG's) entire career. Of course as Dennis stated, it would be up to Alice and Shep. Ted With the Vampires tour cancelled & the "Next Lp" being worked on this could be a great opportunity! ...

Re: Battle Axe

Is the Cherry Red version of Battle Axe sourced from the master tapes, or was it sourced from vinyl? If I remember correctly, the first CD version was sourced from an LP. I have the Complete Battle Axe 3CD release on New Millennium Records; it was stated in the CD booklet that the original BA album...

Re: sense of finality

There was a clause in our Warner Bros. contract that would allow us to record a soundtrack with another label. That clause was used for Welcome To My Nightmare rather than the group, even though Atlantic was affiliated with Warner Bros. That's why the WTMN film was created. As for Goes To Hell, I t...

Fireball is not OG.
It was written by and features Dennis, so used creative license and included it, as one that could conceivably have been on an ACG album.
Same with the Sound Of A
Including both makes sense to me too.

Re: Detroit Stories Review

Completely disagree with the diehard “career’s been over for decades” folk. The fact we are here proves the longevity. The ACG era would be long buried in the desert without the solo career. Since you refer to us as 'diehard' I'm not certain you completely disagree. If it wasn't for Alice's solo ca...
