Re: If There was a Radical Setlist Change

They would sell out more shows, they were on Detroit Stories which was a bigger hit than Road, so a new album with them would be another success generating more interest and making more money. Do the maths! As much as i have time for the OG band, i am a fan of solo alice more than the ACG, so i am ...

Re: If There was a Radical Setlist Change

Do a sort of reverse to what happened on the UK tour of 2017, the original guys play the first hour and are joined by the current band for the last half hour. 90 minutes of old and new keeps everyone happy. Respectfully, if you are going to do that there is no reason to use the current band for hal...

Re: Desmond Child talks not doing Trash 2

Overall it was a good interview. I get where he is coming from in regards to Hey Stoopid after Trash was such a successful album but several thoughts here. First, as Si referred to, Raise Your Fist and Yell was not a bomb nor was Constrictor. Both albums outsold the early 80s material. No, they were...

If There was a Radical Setlist Change

I am just throwing this question out for discussion while we have some downtime before next year. I posted here because I feel this is more a general question than a setlist question but if it needs to be moved I completely understand. When Alice started the recent tour with the screens, in an inter...

Re: Were There Any Alice Songs You Were Surprised Didn't Become Hits?

Under My Wheels There was a video clip on here not so long ago where Alice was asked this very question and, if I recall rightly, he named Lost in America and Love's A Loaded Gun . I reckon Love's A Loaded Gun would have had a decent chance at going big had it been around early enough to follow Poi...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

I don't think anyone is questioning Bob's talents and record. He is a legend and rightfully so. What is being questioned is whether he is currently on the same page as the fans regarding the choice of material and musically style of recent Alice Cooper albums. W2MN was generally very good, but Para...

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment

Like many others I would like to hear Lock Me Up in its entirety. It sounds great and is a great opener. The last few tours Alice has brought something back from Raise Your Fist and Yell and all those songs have worked great. I also would like to throw in, I know they did it for about a month a few ...

Excellent cover! She did a great job with that. I always thought that was an underrated Alice song.

I think the following could have been hits given the right push...

Clones
Lost in America
Stolen Prayer
Is Anyone Home?
Cold Machines
Novocaine
Clones did actually very briefly chart.

Were There Any Alice Songs You Were Surprised Didn't Become Hits?

I was thinking about the various singles Alice has released in his career. Obviously, a lot of times when radio and MTV mattered, it came down to the record label really pushing a song. In this day and age, it is virtually impossible for an older artist to get any radio airplay at all for new music....

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

Nice words, Cooperrocks. The one word you left out is “theatrical.” I fully agree that the garage sound has now been done. Repeatedly. It’s understandable why that feel/sound can be so persuasive, but I hope they’ve scratched that itch. Besides, not everyone shares that garage-y point of view. My p...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

Several thoughts here. In regards to Alice and new horror songs, the last three albums definitely seem to lead toward their being something validity regarding Alice doing darker songs. Look I get it. Times change and certainly people's perspective on things and subjects they want to write about chan...

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment

I actually prefer there always being an opener at any show I go too (whether it is Alice or someone else). I feel like a good relatively short opening set by a band is part of the concert experience.

Re: Yep. Here we are.

Also, I'd forgotten about Cheap Trick, but you're right. All that patience wore thin. Oh, indeed - it got to a point where I just stopped caring, after awhile. Interest and hype is not self-sustaining and indefinite. It has a shelf-life. Cheap Trick wore mine out with that album and Alice is wearin...

Re: Yep. Here we are.

Agree whole heartily jacknifejohnny. The recent songs written with the original band are often among my favorites. And I'm not asking them to repeat the goddamned 70s but give us music to the level they have on the 3 albums previous to Road, and I'll be sky high over that, because yes, they are tha...

Re: Canadian Rocker Lee Aaron Covers Is It My Body

My first-listen opinion is that she's trying a bit too hard with the vocal. Needs to be less shouty, more sleazy. That's my take too. Aaron is a very good singer. I am familiar with a lot of her work but I don't think she hit the mark on this one. I was listening to some of the other covers she did...

Canadian Rocker Lee Aaron Covers Is It My Body

I am not sure if anyone has heard this yet but Canadian rocker Lee Aaron just released a new cover album and has covered "Is It My Body." I don't know if many of you know about Lee Aaron in the UK. She never really toured here in the United States a ton either. She has mostly toured Canada and is ve...

Re: Yep. Here we are.

Very unpopular opinion but I have never been crazy about the possibility of an all original band album. I just think that ship has long long sailed. If it was even attempted (there is some debate if an entire album has been completed or not), it will be compared to the early 70s albums. Does anyone ...
