It's no secret that Guns 'n Roses are all big Cooper fans, especially Slash and his famous top hat. In many ways GnR are more the natural successor to Alice then any of the other candidates (Manson/Zombie etc) with their mixture of raw hard rock sleeze and more refined epics and ballads. The two bands first came together when GnR opened show on the 'Raise Your Fist And Yell' tour in December 1987 and since then Slash especially has appeared with Alice multiple times. Below are some of the more interesting occasions.
Axl and Alice did a live duet of "Under My Wheels" at Long Beach Arena in 1987, and also recorded it together in the studio for the soundtrack of 'The Decline of Western Civilization Part II-The Metal Years' in which both also appeared. There is a soundtrack album from the film which features the track, and it was later included on the 'Life And Crimes OF Alice Cooper' box set.
In 1991 Slash played on 'Hey Stoopid' ('Prime Cuts' features footage of him recording the solo), and since then has appeared with Alice on stage several times over the years, normally playing 'Only Women Bleed', 'Lost In America' or 'Cold Ethyl' (his favourite song). Alice has even said in interviews that Slash is welcome to come up and play anytime he wants, as he knows the songs as well as the regular band. One such appearance was captured on 'A Fistful Of Alice' where he plays on 'Lost In America', 'Only Women Bleed' and 'Elected'
Alice makes a guest appearance on "The Garden" from 'Use Your Illusion I'. There is also a video for this track and while only Alice's voice is featured, it does say 'Special thanks to...' at the end of the footage.
Guns n' Roses often played the introduction to "Only Women Bleed" during their 'Use Your Illusion' tour, as an introduction to 'Knocking On Heaven's Door' with Axl often singing a few lines from the song as well. In 2002 Alice repaid tribute to Guns n'Roses when he played their song "Welcome To The Jungle" as part of the encore during the first three shows of the tour!
In 2007 Alice was joined by not just Slash but also Rob Zombie for a thundering performances of 'School's Out' at the 'Scream' awards, where Alice was also presented with the 'Rock Immortal Award'.
In 2008 Slash added additional guitar to 'Vengeance Is Mine' on 'Along Came A Spider' and appeared in the mini-movie promoting the album.
Duff McKegan's solo band 'Loaded' opened shows on the 2012 UK tour and Duff joined Alice on stage for 'School's Out' at the Sheffield show.
In 2010 Slash released his first true self-titled solo album. A special edition of the album is released by Classic Rock Magazine in the UK featuring the CD, a magazine, poster and other stuff. This version exclusively (as of writing) features a bonus song written by Slash and Alice, and sung by Alice and Nicole Scherzinger (of pop girl group Pussycat Dolls) called "Baby Can't Drive".
In 2012 Slash joined Alice at the Revolver 'Golden Gods' awards ceremony at the Club Nokia on April 11th. Then in 2013 Alice returned the favour and turned up at Slash's shows shows in Paris, and Dubai of all places, again to play 'School's Out'.
In 2016 Slash makes an appearance n the Hollywood Vampire's album playing on 'School's Out', and in 2017 Slash appeared at the annual Christmas Pudding show in Phoenix.
